isaiah slept for the rest of the day, his sister still sleeping next to him. his mom quietly walking in the room and walking amira to her room, letting the boy rest comfortably. she kissed his forehead and closed his room door. telling reggie to be quiet while he slept. isaiah only ever slept this long when he was sick so his mom made him some soup and some warm tea for whenever he got up.

after the call with his mom ended, the boy finally woke up. it was around 9pm now. he exited his room, greeting his mom, grabbing a water out the fridge. she looked at the boy and he looked sick. she grabbed the thermometer, checking his temperature. 98.8, a little high but she didn't worry. she asked if he wanted some soup and he nodded his head at the woman as she scooped some soup up in a bowl. she gave her son a hug and went to go get amira ready for bed.
isaiah checked his phone to see he had a few missed calls and messages from sanyiah, the basketball gc and his cousin.

dame is short for damian. he was really like his older brother he never had. they always did shit together. growing up, they were best friends. he's the one that truly got him into basketball.
