Jinx had to admit, awkward as it was falling asleep next to Lux, who she'd actually asked to stay, she got the best sleep she had since Cass...yeah.

She was trying to skip ahead to the acceptance stage.

Lux kind of pulled her out of the gutter. The deepest part of the gutter at least. Jinx didn't know how but just having her there made her feel better. Lux managed to comfort her while also still being...herself. Definitely less rude, more kind of really nice?

It wasn't exactly weird, just new. Not something she minded at all.

The only bad thing that came out of it was Caitlyn spotting her. Caitlyn was mad enough when she found out that Jinx just liked her a tiny little bit. Actually having her in the house, in her room, in her bed?

That just made it even harder to get out of the warmth of her bed in the morning. She hadn't 'gotten up' in the past week, not really feeling the motivation or reason to do so. But, feeling a little better, she felt like it. Having Lux over made her realise that she needed to talk to people.

Around eleven, which was pretty early for her, she managed to get herself up and into the kitchen to find something to eat. As much as she wanted to use up all the junk food in the house, she found it was all being guarded already.

Usually Caitlyn worked up in her room, but sometimes she'd work down at the table. The latter was her pick today, and Jinx had a good guess as to why. Catch her and ask about what was going on, because whatever Lux told her couldn't have been anywhere near satisfactory.

Jinx quietly greeted her, occupying herself with starting to make eggs so Caitlyn didn't make her look her in the eye the entire conversation.

"Is Luxanna...?" Caitlyn didn't finish her sentence, but Jinx got the message. She wished she been given at least a little time before getting questioned, but it was what it was.

"She left. Had a thing." Jinx said, grabbing a bowl and cracking two eggs into it, careful not to get any shell in.
She heard Caitlyn sigh.

"Jinx, why was she here? Especially now?"

Jinx sprinkled a pinch of salt in with the eggs.
"She just wanted to help. I know she seems mean and..she is, but she can be nice too." She explained, grabbing a fork and starting to whisk the egg together.
Caitlyn took a second before responding.

"I suppose you seem a little better. You're up, and cooking." She paused and took a deep breath.
"I don't know how she could possibly help, but she did. I will allow her to be here, under conditions."

Jinx turned the burner on, setting a skillet on top with some butter.
"Okay."

"You have to tell Vi. Today. And you will tell us if she does anything wrong. I don't want you getting too close to her either. You have to understand who she is Jinx. The Crownguards are not friends."

Jinx bit down on her lip. She wanted to argue, but the energy just wasn't there. Telling Vi wouldn't be fun, though she could probably leave out the whole crush part. And that whole last part was mostly true. They all sucked. But Lux was nice-ish, and she was friendly now. She had no reason to fake that.

"I will but," Jinx dumped the eggs into the pan.
"She really isn't that bad. Sometimes she's kind of..sweet?" She cringed at herself saying that. It was true though.
