" Okay great and we will get back to you whenever she wakes back up". I heard someone say. I heard beeping sounds, bright lights and I felt something in my arm. " Where am I "? I asked sitting up in the bed. " You're at DMC Harper University Hospital ". I heard someone say while walking up to me. When I looked up I saw a beautiful woman, with pretty white teeth, her hair in a slick back bun and a clipboard in her hand while looking at the computer next to me. " What am I doing here "? " Someone brought you in after seeing you passed out on the sidewalk around 4:30 this morning ". She said with an concerned look on her face. " Who found me? I want to go home. " a tear formed in my eye. " I totally understand, but before discharging you someone has a couple of questions for you". She poked her head out of the door and waved at someone motioning them to come in the room. A police officer walked in. " Goodmorning Ms. Nicole, I am Officer. Peterson I'm here just to ask you a few questions". I gulped. Why do the police want to talk to me? " Okay...". I said looking a little confused. " First off let me just say that I am only involved because when you was brought in this morning, these wonderful nurses found multiple bruises on your face and some around your neck. Are you a victim of Domestic Violence "? He asked me causing me to look around and not say anything. " Listen, I know you don't want to talk, but in order for me to help you get out of this situation you have to communicate with me". He said looking down at his notepad then back up at me. " I'm not in the mood to talk right, can I have some time alone"? I asked turning over in the uncomfortable hospital bed. " Okay sure! But if you ever need to talk here's my card contact me ". He placed his card on the table and walked out of the room with the nurse following behind him.

Knock Knock. I heard someone at the door. " I just said I don't want to talk right now ". " So you got the police up here questioning you and shit bro"? I turned around and sat up in my bed. " DonDon what are you doing here"? He sat down in the sofa chair across from me. " I'm here for you baby, I'm sorry for the way I acted earlier. I just didn't know what else to do when I seen you looking at my homeboy ". " Well it's not like I wanted him, you just overreacted like usual ". I said not even looking at him. " Man don't get fucked up in this hospital Armoni. Get up and put on your clothes" he said getting up walking towards the door. " I'm not even discharged yet ". " You're feeling well to be talking shit, so let yo nurse know so we can go ". He said before leaving out of the room. " Can I come in "? The nurse asked as she knocked on the door. " Sure and I was wondering if I could get discharged today"? She looked at me like I was crazy. " Are you sure? Are you feeling better? We can't let you go if you aren't ". " YES! I'm feeling so much better, I'll be even better when I get home in my comfortable bed". I said smiling as if I really wanted to walk a foot back into that house. " Okay please sit here and I'll go get your discharged papers". She walked out of the room.

I signed my discharged papers, got dressed, walked outside the hospital and to DonDon's car. As I approached the car, I seen someone sitting in the driver seat . It was another girl. I ignored it and got in the back seat. " Armoni this is my baby moms Mercedes, Mercedes this is Armoni". He introduced us. " Hi nice to meet you". I said with a smile trying to keep myself cool and calm. " Cant say the same about you". She rolled her eyes and got on her phone. I heard DonDon chuckle.

Who does this bitch think she is? Why'd he think it was cool to bring her up here to pick me up?
