The next few days went by so fast. The police had officially sent out the Amber Alert for my baby, but there was still no news. I sat up in my bed, looking around my dark room. It was 8 in the morning, but you couldn't tell by how dark it was in my bedroom. I hadn't slept in days; the bags under my eyes indicated that. I haven't been able to get up and do ANYTHING! i've been so out of energy. I heard a knock at the door. I quickly got out of bed and ran to the door, hoping for news... GOOD NEWS. When i opened it i saw Semaje standing there looking concerned. " Damn girl, you need to clean up this house. It reeks in here," she said wrinkling her nose. I just ignored her and went back into my room. Semaje followed me, sitting on my bed. " Look, bestie I know you're going through a lot right now, but you can't let this change the way you live. Trust me, Kehlani will be found safely, okay?" Semaje said, glancing around the room in disgust. Before i could respond, there was another knock on the door. My heart raced as i opened it. Standing there was the police officer, and in his arms was my baby, Kehlani. I was told that Dondon was now in custody and if i wanted to file a restraining order against him i could do so, but i didn't care about any of that... i was happy to have my baby back home, with me! plus, he's her father and he deserves to see her.
It's been a year since everything went down. Dondon has gotten released from jail and also today is Kehlani's Birthday. We've moved to a spacious three-bedroom house with two and a half baths. It is so BIG! Today is Kehlani's big day. I've rented bounce houses, snow cone machines, cotton candy machines, and more. The theme of her party is Minnie Mouse, her favorite cartoon character. Semaje has been here since this morning, helping me set up everything for the party. We've been blowing up balloons, hanging streamers, and setting up tables with pink and white tablecloths adorned with Minnie Mouse designs. " Armoni, where do you want the bounce house?" Semaje called from the backyard. " Over there, near the fence," i replied, pointing to a shaded area. " We don't want it in direct sunlight." " That's what they bad asses need, some sunlight." Semaje replied back before sliding the back door shut and telling the men where to place it. I just chuckled. The doorbell rung and when i went to answer it was my parents. They had one of Kehlani's cake, and the rest of the decorations. They were also dressed up in their white Minnie Mouse shirt that read " Grandparents of the Birthday Girl". I grabbed the cake out of my mom's hand and hugged her. " Hey ma, so glad you could make it." She hugged me back walked into the house fully, with my dad behind her. She looked at the the house and the decorations " You did a great job with decorating, I think she's going love this". I smiled sitting the cake on the kitchen island and walked back into the living room to finish setting up.
It was now 2:50, i told everyone to come around 3:30 because that's the time the party was starting. I went into my big ass masters bedroom and got my clothes out. I was wearing the pink Minnie Mouse shirt that read " Mom of the Birthday Girl and some cute jean shorts and my pink tory burch sandals. I wasn't going anywhere else and the party was at my house so there was no point in putting on tennis shoes, i took a 20 minute shower and when i got out it was almost 3:30, i put on my clothes, did my hair and sprayed myself with my Daisy Marc Jacobs perfume. My parents had got Kehlani dressed for me, she wore a cute pink tutu and her pink and white Minnie Mouse shirt that read " My 1st Birthday " we paired it with her all white forces that has Minnie Mouse customized on there. The party had eventually started. Semaje was in charge of the music, she know all the lit ass songs. As kids came into the house, they ran so fast outside to get in the bounce house. I invited all of Dondon's friends that had kids and even the rest of the his members. They are all like family to me. The doorbell rung, i looked around and saw everyone i invited. I went to the door and saw Mercedes, Dondon and their daughter. Dondon had 2 big gifts in his hand and Mercedes had one as well. I opened the door widely enough so they could come in. " Go outside and play with the kids baby." Mercedes told their daughter before she took off running outside. Dondon went outside as well to get Kehlani. " I'm sorry for always being so rude and nasty to you. I was always the first, so i didn't know how to get used to you being around", Mercedes said before walking off and going to the kitchen with Semaje. The rest of the party went on with no problems, we danced, we ate, we sung happy birthday , cut the cake, gave out goodie bags. I believe everyone enjoyed themselves.
