Hunter was taking a walk, he was lost in his thoughts when he found himself thinking a lot about a particular person, you.
Out of the corner of his eye he saw you from afar, you were chatting with a guy, his arm slung around your shoulder, the two seemed very close.
Hunter stood still watching the both of you interact as the guy said something to you which made you ruffle the mystery guy's hair.
Hunter continued to watch, his hands clenched into a tight fist as he stared at the two of them closely. His heart continued to beat quickly in his chest, as his face was a deep red, almost like a crimson color.
Why do I care about this? They're just my friend, right? I... I shouldn't feel this way...
He felt upset with himself, and confused, as his mind began to scramble for answers. He let out a groan of frustration, not exactly sure how to deal with this, or how to explain it.
The guy leaned in, whispering something in reader's ears causing them to blush and playfully smack him.
Hunter's heart then really started to beat quickly. His mind began to scramble, as an almost physical reaction happened, due to his body's fight-or-flight mode kicking in. He wanted to go over there and ask what they were talking about, or tell him to back off and leave them alone. He wanted to do anything but let them continue to talk with each other.
They're just my friend... right? Why do I care...?
He kept those questions, as he continued to feel frustrated with himself.
You were still blushing profusely, whisper-yelling something, moving closer to the guy.
Hunter had an intense urge to just run up to them and break them apart, or at the very least just ask what they were talking about. So much that his heart was racing.
Do I... do I like them?
His mind began racing with thoughts over what he was seeing now, and his face was practically glowing. Every part of his mind was asking the same question: "Do I like them?" as his eyes continued to stay glued to the two of them. His heart beat fast, and his mind raced once more.
Why did he feel so jealous about this? What was he going to do?
They're just my friend... but.. they're so-
He started blushing a bit again at the thought, and started thinking about the whole situation. Was he falling for them? Was... was that the only explanation for this?
I can't believe I'm thinking like this...
He covered his face with both of his hands, ashamed and embarrassed by his revelation.
Hunter watched the two interact before the both of them parted ways. He wanted to approach you but was a little hesitant, for whatever reason, but decided to ask anyways.
"Hey, (Y/N)! Who was that boy I saw you with earlier?"
He asked you, waiting for an answer, but he was expecting something along the lines of, "Oh... you saw that?" or, "I don't wanna talk about it."
"O-oh hey Hunter, you saw that?" You replied, you hoped he didn't overhear you being teased earlier.
Hunter nodded his head slowly.
"Yeah, I... I did."
He then paused, and seemed to consider his next words carefully, before speaking again.
"So... who was he?"
Hunter asked her, his voice slightly hesitant. He tried to play it off like it was no big deal, you could have seen right through him.
He wondered whether or not you had noticed that he was a bit more interested in the topic than normal.
He wasn't sure why he even cared. It was almost like some jealousy... something he had never really felt before. He hoped it was all just a mistake, but he found it hard to deny the feeling that had started in his heart.
"Oh, I had a little bit of catching up to do," your response made Hunter feel more jealous than before; if anything, hearing that you were catching up with someone else only increased his insecurities and feelings of jealousy.
You're making it too obvious Hunter. Stop.
"After all, it's been awhile since I saw my brother." You shrugged, unsure why Hunter was so interested.
Hunter was completely shocked, a wide-eyed look on his face.
"Y-your brother? You two look..."
Hunter paused, unable to find the right words to describe it.
"You guys... don't look like siblings."
Hunter could feel his heart settle down now that he knew the boy wasn't someone you liked. He could also feel his face calm down a bit, and he stopped feeling as awkward when talking to you. He felt his jealousy turn into embarrassment.
He couldn't believe he got jealous over your brother!
"We aren't siblings by blood but he's basically my brother in every other way." You replied truthfully, figuring you had nothing to hide.
Hunter took a little bit to process that, but eventually it sunk in.
"So... you two just get along really well, is that it?"He asked.
"Yup."
"O-oh…" Hunter felt more embarrassed.
At least one thing's for sure, he definitely has a crush on you.
It seems he fell for you, hard.
