Nicknames

You had just woken up, feeling warmth surrounding you as you basked in Hunter’s embrace. You shifted your head to get a better look at your boyfriend realizing that he was awake.

“Morning, Sunshine. How did you sleep?” Hunter asked softly, his voice a little deep from having just woken up a few minutes before you.

“S-sunshine?” You questioned Hunter, you could feel your heart flutter at his new nickname for you.

Hunter seems a little embarrassed even though he thinks that the nickname is cute, hoping that you would actually like it.

“You know…like the sun? Because it's bright and warm and happy, and that's kind of what you are...you're a little bit like the sun." He gave a soft chuckle, trying to play it off and act like he hadn’t blurted it out loud by accident. “Do you not like it?”

“No no, I love it, that’s so sweet of you. I was just caught off guard that’s all,” you gave him a soft smile as Hunter shifted a little, burying his head in the crook of your neck. “Hmmm… should i give you a nickname too?”

Hunter perked up at the suggestion, giving you a big smile and a nod, quickly asking you."You would? What would you want to call me?”

“How about Sunflower? So that way, we’ll both match?” You offered, pulling Hunter a little closer to you.

Hunter was instantly stunned when you suggested "Sunflower" as a new nickname for him. He couldn't help but think that it was such a cute and adorable nickname, and he was so excited that you thought of it. He instantly smiled at you and nodded eagerly, clearly very much on board with the nickname.

"I love it! Yes, that would be perfect!"
He let out an adorable happy little chuckle.

“I’m glad you like it my Sunflower.”
