Nine

|Luz POV|

I slam the door closed and walk towards my room.

She was bluffing, right?

I knock into the couch with my stomach and that definitely makes me stop zoning out.

"Ouch"

I say while holding the spot it hit, near my hip and stomach. It soon wears off and I finally go into my room and looks at the clock. It's 6:31... why does amity wake up so early?

I sit at my desk and fiddle with my pen while trying to read my oddly neat notes. I love taking notes but most of the time is half sleep so it looked good, but doesn't make any sense.

An hour later I decide to get ready, I throw on some sweatpants and a t-shirt. I tuck in the red top into my black pants and look in the mirror. I realize I forgot to brush my teeth before putting my clothes on but shrug it off. I brush my teeth and grab my messenger bag and beanie and knock on willows room.

"Wills? You ready?"

"Come in"

I walk in the room and she's sitting at the mirror, struggling to get her hair together.

"You would think when I cut my hair it would be easier, but nooo. Ig my hair gets curly when it's too humid. Get it from my grandpa."

"Throw on a hat and I'll help in the bathroom after the test. We're gonna be late. It's already 7:54. Her class starts at 8:20."

She nods. I always have to check in on her because when we became friends she was going through some things and I don't know if she fully resolved what was going on. I always look around her room to see if I can find anything suspicious, but I only found something once.

We walk out the room and head to class, thoughts about the test, Audrey, how Willow's doing, and Amity swirl in my head. Heading downstairs I look Willow up and down.

"Hey wills, you good?"

"Yeah why"

"Nothing just making sure"

She looks at me awkwardly, confused, and shrugs it off. We walk out the dormitory doors and head to class in Wittabane Hall, Home to all history classes. I hate history but i always dress comfy for long tests like these.

I walk in the class and sit in my normal seat, which of course, is next to Amity. She's always say in the same seat as me and so do I. This is the only class where we sit together though, laughing with her helps me wake up sometimes.

Right before the bell, Audrey walks in and sits next to me.

"Hey babe, morning amity"

"Uhm... hello Audrey?"

Amity turns to Luz

"Is she talking to me?"

"Mhm"

Luz turns back to Audrey

"Hey Dri"

I turn back facing the professor and lay my head into my hand. I bounce my leg and lay my head down fully, thinking about random things I've done today so far

"Hey Luz, you okay?"

I look at Audrey, deep into her eyes. She's beautiful, almost everything I wanted. Why do I feel.. empty with her?

"Yeah I'm fine, just thinking"

The professor walks in and starts talking, I zone out as soon as I hear "Good morning students" out his mouth. I come back to reality when Audrey pokes my shoulder and points to her open computer, which basically means "hey, we're doing work now".

I open my computer and start the test, almost falling asleep, deep in my thoughts, can't my mind just shut up?

I close my computer and lay my head down. I'm one of the last people done, I don't know if that makes me smart or dumb. I look over at willow who is writing on her arm and point to my phone, telling her to text me.

We text until the next bell rings, I pick up my bag and wait for Dri

"Hey Dri.. what are you doing for winter break? I'm going with my mom. You going with your parents?"

Audrey's face slightly drops. Shoot. I forgot

"I'm going to go to a friends parents house. Definitely not with mine"

"Oh yeah, sorry"

"Don't worry about it"

I walk away from class, alongside Audrey, awkward silence fills the air. I sigh and grab her hand, walking to the next class.

Okay so I just wanted a kinda chill chapter, I find it kinda cute honestly.

There is more to Audrey than you think.. I just wanna say, y'all can hate in her as much as you want, I find it funny... hilarious even 😭. But I feel like some of y'all are gonna love her in the end.
