THE MARRIAGE CONTRACT | SATZU

PRESENT [SCENE 7 & 8]

SCENE NUMBER 7: [MEETING THE STANDARDS]

Tzuyu and his secretary arrived at the Chou's Mansion.

"You can get in the house, I'm just going to park this car in the garage." Tzuyu utter as her secretary hop out of his car. Nayeon then proceed to get inside the mansion. 

"Good afternoon, Ms. Im!" the maid welcomed Tzuyu's secretary with a smile, since Nayeon is working for Tzuyu for a long time now, it's no surprise that the maids knew who she is. The latter just smile back and bowed after walking inside the house. "Oh, there you are Ms. Im! Where's my son?" Tzuyu's mother asked as she kissed her on the cheek. "He's still outside parking the car. He told me to get inside while he parks." Tzuyu's mom nodded and guided her in the dining area. It's almost dinner time that's why they are all gathered up in one place. Nayeon saw his boss' father that's why she greeted him as respect to his boss' father. "Come take a seat now Ms. Im. We have a lot of things to discuss right now." Tzuyu's father said that made the latter curious.

"Dad" They all look at the man who just entered the dining area. "Tzuyu, you're here. Take a seat son." The maids started to serve the dinner on the table. "So, why did you call me here dad?" Tzuyu asked without any hesitations. His parents both look to each other, it seems like they are talking with each other using their eyes. Tzuyu frowned trying to figure out what's happening. 'Did I do something wrong? Did I made a mistake?' that is just two of the questions roaming around tzuyu's head. He's too confused as to what is really happening right now.

"Listen, son. We do not intend to pressure you in this kind of thing, but we're really getting older. We just wanted you to be happy and forget about your ex fiancé." After hearing his father's statement, Tzuyu seemed to lost interest in listening and just started eating. "Ms. Im told us that you visited Elkie again earlier. That happened a long time ago now, son. Elkie won't come back to life anymore." His father added but Tzuyu is shows no reaction at all. HIs secretary is looking at him at the moment. She knows that it is really hard for Tzuyu to forget his ex fiancé especially when she is able to see him mourn almost everyday. We cannot even blame him as he fell really hard for that lady. However, a part of him wanted to forget his ex fiancé. It is just that maybe it's not really the right time for him to really move on.

"If you won't find a girl to love, then we'll do it for you." his mother added. 

Tzuyu then stopped munching his food and look straight in his parents. "Really?" Tzuyu scoffed feeling disappointed by his parents decision. "You cannot force me to love someone. What makes you think that I'll be able to easily forget Elkie for someone who I am not romantically attracted with?" Nayeon felt really awkward and is currently asking herself why did she even needed to be there. "We just wanted you to be happy so-" his mother was not able to finish her words when Tzuyu cut her off. "Happy? If you wanted me to be happy, then you'll let me decide when will I move on." Tzuyu stood up from his seat and didn't bother to finish his food.

"I lost my appetite, you guys can finish yours."

SCENE NUMBER 8: [THE TRUTH] 

*knock* *knock*

"Son?" Tzuyu's mother tried to knock on her son's door but no one is answering. Tzuyu got really upset by his parents trying to force him to move on. "Son, are you there?" after calling for a few more, her mother didn't bother to call him again as she receive no response at all. Her mom was about to turn back at the door when Tzuyu suddenly opened it. "Tzuyu, can I come inside your room?" Tzuyu just stare at his mother's face for some couple of seconds before letting her in.

"I need to tell you something." Her mother started and Tzuyu just nodded to let her know that she can continue whatever she's going to say. "Your father arranged you with someone. I felt bad for what happened to last night's dinner. I realized that I shouldn't force you to find somebody new. So I tried to stop your father with his arrangement plan, but I couldn't do anything. You know your father, if he wants something he never stops until he get it." Tzuyu looked at his mother with a blank face. 

*sigh* Tzuyu approached his mother and hugged her. "I really miss Elkie mom." Tzuyu cried on his mother's shoulder. Her mom tried to comfort him as she rubs Tzuyu's back. "I know, I know. But Elkie wants you to be happy for sure." Even though they see Tzuyu as the nonchalant one, her mother knows his weaknesses are. "Elkie would be really happy to see you smile again Tzuyu." Her mother added. 

Tzuyu let go from the hug and wiped his tears. "You're right mom. Maybe I should really start to move on. Dad's right, Elkie won't come back to life anymore." Her mother cupped Tzuyu's face and wipe his tears away. She smiled upon hearing what her son just said. "Mom, I need to ask you a favor." 

"What is it son? Anything for you."

"Can you ask dad to cancel that arrangement? I promise I'll try to find a new lover if that's what he really wants." Tzuyu uttered and her mother smiled and nodded at him. "Yes, son. I'll do it for you."

"Mr. Chou, Sana is here." Tzuyu turned around on his swivel chair as Nayeon announced her that the latter has already entered the office. "Good morning, Mr. Chou!" Sana greeted as she bowed in front of him. 

"Please, take a seat." Tzuyu stated.

"So, your proposal is ready." her boss started and Sana quickly place the folder on Tzuyu's table. Tzuyu then opened it reading each line carefully while Sana explains the detail of the designs of the event's place.

"Hmm" Sana gulped, feeling anxious about her designs. Tzuyu then looked at her while fidgeting with her pen. This became a hobby for him whenever he holds a pen. 'Does he likes it?' Sana asked in her mind. Tzuyu smiled and uttered "Congratulations, Ms. Minatozaki!" for the first time he got his name right. Sana smiled broadly as her design got approved by her boss.

"Thank you, Mr. Chou!" Sana said while still smiling. She felt so relived that her boss liked it on the first try.

"You're doing really great with your job. I like it!" Tzuyu added. 

Meanwhile, her secretary seem unimpressed by the performance of the new colleague. "I'll meet you again on the meeting room for your presentation." Tzuyu said and let Sana out of his office.

"Aaaaahh! He approved my design!" Sana squealed after getting out of his boss' office.
