THE MARRIAGE CONTRACT | SATZU

PRESENT [SCENE 11 &12]

SCENE NUMBER 11: [AWKWARD]

"Mr. Chou, Mr. Kim is here." Tzuyu looked at his secretary who's now assisting a white man inside his office. "Oh, it's you Mr. Kim! I'm glad you came today." Tzuyu said then gestured the white man to take his seat on the office couch. The two men started to talk about business related topics and some small talks. "Ms. Im, you may take your break for now. Mr. Kim and I are fine here." Nayeon assent and went outside his boss' office. 

While walking through the corporate cafeteria, Nayeon saw Sana. She approach the blond girl sweetly. "Hi! I've heard that you're going to be one of the entertainers of the guests for the company's upcoming project by the end of the month, along with Mr. Chou and I." Nayeon said warmly. "Ah, yes." Sana simply said. Nayeon seemed unimpressed by her after knowing that she went out last night with his boss.

"So, do you had fun last night?" Nayeon asked while fidgeting with her own hair. Her eyes is observing her whole body.  "Huh/ What do you mean?" Sana asked confusedly. Nayeon's patience comes to test. She doesn't seem to be pleased by the answer of the latter. "Look, you're just new here and your amorous behavior is already showing?" Nayeon scoffed and rolled her eyes to the woman in front of her. "I- I don't know what you're talking about Ms. Im." Sana defended but Nayeon released a scornful laugh in front of her. "Don't try to steal my man you new piece of slut! You'll see what will happen if you do." Nayeon said calmly trying not to make a scenario near the entrance of the corporate cafeteria. "Look, I am not trying to flirt with our boss. He just invited me for a dinner last night-" Sana didn't manage to finish her sentence when Nayeon cut her off. "No more explanations. I don't want to hear your lies you slut." Nayeon  said before passing right through her.

"What the fuck is her problem?" Sana muttered and shook her head.

"Are you alright? You are so quiet since earlier." Sana's office mate/friend asked.

"Y-yeah. Maybe just because of loads of works." Sana responded but she's thinking about what happened earlier. 

"Hey, Sana! Have you seen the news?" one of her co-workers asked and showed her the article she saw on the internet. "What is this?" Sana asked. She saw a picture of her and Tzuyu eating on the restaurant but it doesn't seem to bother her, but the next pictures and statement surprised her. It is a picture of her with Tzuyu wiping the side of her lips with the caption of "One of the biggest company's CEO finally dating after the death of his ex fiancé?" Sana is so shocked to the point that she checked all of the posts about the dating issue. "This is not true." Sana said and gave back the phone of her office mate.

"Where are you going?" Her friend asked but she didn't answer and just continued to walk out.

SCENE NUMBER 12: [THE ISSUE]

The issue spread all over the company industry really fast. Making the rumors top of the news headlines. This is not the first time Tzuyu got involved by a dating scandal, but this time is worst. There were pictures and videos spreading all over the internet, and Tzuyu staring at Sana made it even worst. 

Tzuyu is comfortably sitting down on his swivel chair while his assistant suddenly spoke up. "What are we going to do now? There are so many press outside the company wanting to have a word from you." Tzuyu's admin assistant asked. 

"We don't have to do anything about it Mr. Son. Let them spread it. That won't affect the image of the company anyway." Tzuyu responded to his assistant. "For some case, it may affect your image, sir. Especially that Ms. Minatozaki is just your executive editor, and besides we don't even know if they came from a poor family or what." he added.  "Then you already knew what to do Mr. Son." Tzuyu said and place his fingertips together.

*door bell ringing repeatedly*

"Coming!" the blond girl said while hurriedly walking through her door.

As soon as she opened the door, she saw a man wearing a white long-sleeved polo partnered with a black slacks and shoes. "Yes? What do you need?" his face seemed really familiar for the blond girl. 'Did I saw him somewhere?' she asked herself.

"Good morning, Ms. Minatozaki! I'm Mr. Chou Administrative Assistant, Mr. Son Chaeyoung, and I am here to talk about something really important" That's the reason why he is familiar for Sana because she often see him inside the company. After knowing that he is the AA of his boss, Sana let him inside the house and started to entertain him. She prepared some juice and snack for the guest and took a seat in front of him. "Thank you, Ms. MInatozaki. So, I know that you've heard about the dating rumors spreading all over the news and the internet. I know that dealing with this kind of thing can be really difficult, but Mr. Chou ordered me to go and talk to you." he started. Sana waited for him to continue and reveal his real intentions. 

"He wanted me to explain to you about his plan. We researched about your status and life and we found out that you're the daughter of the Chou's ex collaborator. Your father and Tzuyu's father are both working for each other." Mr. Son said while munching on his sandwich.

"So?" Sana asked waiting for the guy in front of him continue explaining.

"Mr. Chou wanted you to sign this contract." Chaeyoung said and handed the papers to Sana. 

 "That letter contains the agreement that you and Mr. Chou are going to pretend to be fiancés. It is for you to be-" 

"Wait, what?! Fiancés? No! No, I cannot sign this agreement. I'm gonna pretend that he's my fiancé for that absurd dating rumor? Are you out of your mind? There's so many ways to stop the rumors from spreading and you guys chose this plan?" Sana furiously said that made Chaeyoung stop from speaking.

"Ms. Minatozaki, let me finish my words first." Sana sighed out of frustration and leaned her back on the sofa while crossing her arms. 

"This is for the safety of both of your images. We have already talked to your father along with Mr. Chou Tzuyu's father. There's a pros and cons for this situation Ms. Minatozaki, and I hope that you can comprehend all of this. Your life is in danger, we knew that you've been receiving death treats. Some of our investors wanted to make an arrange marriage for their daughter to marry Mr. Chou Tzuyu, and they are the one's who've been sending you death threats. So, in able to protect you, we need you to sign that paper." HIs explanation made Sana even more frustrated. It is still not enough for her to agree in signing the papers.

"Can't they just protect me without having any relationship with him?" Sana asked but the guy in front of him just laugh at her.

"That's not how it works Ms. Minatozaki. Even if that happens they'll still try to send you those threats."

"Then why would I still-" Sana was unable to finish her words when Chaeyoung spoke louder than her.

"You'll be having full protection from the Chou's knowing that they hold so much power than your father, I can assure you that you'll never be in danger. Don't worry the contract will end after all is at peace." Chaeyoung said and sip on the orange juice that Sana prepared for him. 

The house filled with silence as Sana contemplates. This may be frustrating for her but her life is on the line, even though he doesn't want to be with his boss she have left no other choice but to accept it for her safety. 'I just hope that this will end really fast.' Sana is already having a conversation with her mind. 

At the end, Sana chose to be safe and away from danger.

"Okay, I'll sign the contract."
