Smelling Food caused Syrenity to wake up frowning due to her being the only one in the house. It's been a month since the charity event and she hasn't seen Damiri since that night. She didn't really care but she did want to know why.
Getting out the bed Syrenity out of the room and downstairs. The smell of breakfast hit her nose once she entered the kitchen. A shirtless Damiri moved around the kitchen as Syrenity watched him, his tatted back flexed every time he moved. Grey jogging pants hung on his waist lowly making Srenity bite her plump lips before walking over to a chair and taking a seat.
" Good morning " Damir's deep rusty voice scared her since his back was still facing her. Syrenity was stuck watching him to even say anything back. The tattoos on his back were a lot but beautiful.
" I said good morning " Damiri spoke again only this time she was looking into his eyes. Clearing her throat Syrenity quickly dropped her gaze to her freshly done nude nails.
"Good morning black " Syrenity's voice was shallow and soft, she didn't know why she was nervous all of a sudden but her body was going against her mind and she hated it. A smirk grew on Damiri's face, he was loving knowing he made her nervous. He didn't know why she made him excited when other women jumped to get his attention all the time.
" it's Damiri " he slid a plate full of food in front of her making her belly talk. Looking down at the plate Syrenity's mouth watered just from looking at it. The plate contained sausages, eggs, bacon, homemade French toast, and gits n shrimp with a bowl of fruit. Syrenity looked over seeing him have the same plate only he just had mangoes.
After doing a quick prayer Syrenity began eating, Moaning at the taste of the food making Damiri side-eye her.
" Syrenity when you gone talk to yo peoples " he cleared his throat causing Syrenity's head to pop up. Putting her fork down on the plate, Syrenity mugged him while he held a blank face. Damiri usually wasn't fazed by her mugs or attitudes but he was getting aggravated by her sisters and father asking how she was or asking him to tell her to unblock them.
" I'm not talking to them until they see what my problem is in this dumb marriage. They never look at my perspective on things and I'm tired of trynna explain myself when they should just think of my feelings, especially my dad. " Syrenity expressed looking down at her food.
Her family always ignores her feelings when it comes to helping the family. When she tried telling them about how she felt they said to look on the positive side or just dismiss the topic altogether; like the one time they went to Jamaica for Christmas leaving her at home for the whole holiday just because she said was going to be working at her self-made jewelry business to better it.
" Syrenity " Damiri called out deeply, Syrenity looked at him as they held contact before she forced herself to look somewhere else.
" Look I feel you wanting to make them understand how you feel but you gone make yoself miserable tryna hold on up this lil attitude stunt. Plus this dumb marriage is something you're going to have to deal with forever since there's no divorce allowed so instead of hating it and becoming miserable over it, you might as well just accept it and move on. You act like you are the only one who has to be stuck in the marriage, youn see me stressing and having attitudes because of it. " Damiri's deep rusty voice was the only sound in the kitchen as Syrenity listened.
