"Apparently we're getting another Wednesday," Yoko announced as she slid into the the seat next to Divina at the lunch table.

Wednesday stared blankly. "What does that mean?"

"Transfer student in the middle of the year." Yoko sipped from her blood bag. "Her names Kali."

"How do you even know this?" Divina asked her girlfriend.

"Principal Weems told me. She's gonna be my new roommate. Think you can work your magic, Enid? Find out who exactly I'll be rooming with for the rest of the year?"

Enid smiled as she pulled out her phone. "You got it. Kali, you said? What's her last name?"

Yoko froze. "I don't know. Weems didn't say."

Enid put her phone on the table. "Then how do you expect me to find her?"

She shrugged. "Kali is a kind of a unique name, should be enough, right?"

Enid rolled her eyes and picked her phone up again. "Doubtful, but I will attempt." She started searching through socials starting with Instagram. "It is a pretty name though. You think she's pretty?"

Yoko smirked. "Why, you tryna smash?"

Enid rolled her eyes again as she continued to search. "Div, you wanna hit her for me?"

"Jokes on you, my girlfriend would never—ow!" Yoko rubbed the back of her head where Divina hit her. "Babe." But Divina only giggled and kept eating. "Look it was a valid question. Enid's been single since she broke things off with Ajax in sophomore year after she joined the dark side." And by dark side she meant Enid realizing she was a lesbian. "And I think it's high time she finally gets a girlfriend. Or at the very least sleeps with a girl 'cause she really needs the experience."

"That's not for you to decide," Wednesday defended Enid. "Romantic and sexual pursuits are trivial and only important to those with inferior IQ. To insinuate that Enid needs to participate is an insult to her intelligence."

Yoko rolled her eyes. "Just because you're aro/ace and find it trivial, doesn't mean that it actually is."

"Agree to disagree."

Enid interrupted their banter by humming. "Hmm ... Yup, can't find anything."

Yoko leaned over to try to peer at her phone. "Oh come on, really?"

Enid just put her phone away. "I told you I can't do anything with only her first name. Maybe if I knew what she looked like, but I don't. So you're out of luck."

Yoko groaned and laid her head on the table. "Great, for all I know my new roommate is a psychopath."

"Maybe then this school year will finally become interesting," Wednesday grumbled.

Divina rolled her eyes. "I doubt Weems would let a psychopath into the school."

Yoko pointed at Wednesday without lifting her head. "They let her in."

"Okay, but Wednesday is specific type of psychopath that works," Enid defended her. "I doubt Weems would let someone who's actually dangerous dangerous into the school."

"Exactly," Divina nodded.

Wednesday crossed her arms, deciding to ignore the implication that she's not actually dangerous for now. "It would be disappointing if she isn't dangerous given her name."

Yoko lifted her head up. "What do you mean?"

"Her name is Kali, yes?" Yoko nodded. "Kali is the Hindu goddess of time, doomsday, and death."
