A/N: Sort off a short transition chapter into the new arc of this story, let's see how it goes. Enjoy. Vote and Comment to let me know you enjoyed it... Another weird thing I am experiencing now is that I don't enjoy reading other people's work as much as I used to. Now whenever I read, immersing myself in the story I am just comparing it to mine. sadge.
Hailee's POV
It had been two weeks since we kissed, and Y/N had moved back to LA. He had started to move his stuff back into his house, but he practically lived with me now. We had a serious chat about our relationship when we got into LA, where we decided to take things slowly, but unfortunately, my horny ass was regretting it. Every morning when Y/N stepped out of the shower, with just a towel around his waist, or when he cooked me dinner shirtless but with the apron on instead, all I wanted to do was jump him. Fortunately, I managed to control myself, but today I was planning to switch the tables. I packed a sheer lingerie set today to wear after work, and I planned to tease him tonight before we went any further.
As for work, I had made my way back to work on the Avengers set, but I had Y/N wrapped around my arms. My castmates were stunned seeing us together, except for Flo, who was giggling with excitement the entire time Y/N was on set with me. Everyone on set knew Y/N, but as an honorary writer, not as my boyfriend. Xochitl, Tom, Mackie, Chris and Stan were all questioning our sudden pairing, little did they know our long story. Jeremy got along extremely smoothly with Y/N and was surprised that anyone was able to handle my dramatic ass. Flo and I spent every free minute between shoots catching them up on my love life, while Y/N had dipped with the writers and Daniel Cretton to help with the script.
When we were done for the day, I made my way to my trailer. I squeezed out of my costume and took off my makeup. I then wore the lovely lingerie I had packed, before covering that up with a tight-fitting black top and my favourite pair of mom jeans. Just as I tied up my chucks, Y/N knocked on the door. "Babe it's a me, Mario," he yelled butchering the Italian accent making me giggle as I yelled back. "Get in." Y/N stepped in making himself comfortable on the comfy sofa in my trailer. His face was riddled with an expression I knew a little too well. It was the expression your friends made when they had done their homework but you had completely forgotten that there was any. "Babe, it's 6 and we are supposed to be at your parent's place at 7 for dinner today." "WAIT, IT'S TODAY?!!" it hit me like a wrecking ball, how could I have forgotten it? Mom had invited me and Y/N for dinner, and Griff was also planning to join us. This was the first time Griff was going to see Y/N since he had left for London, so they were both excited about it. It was also the first time Y/N and my parents would meet.
Y/N seemed awfully calm about meeting my parents, but I wasn't surprised. I was also for once completely carefree, Y/N didn't have a single bad bone or bad trait anyone could complain about. Unlike my previous boyfriends, I was confident that my parents would love him. He was also the first partner I had that got along with Griff as well as I did, which was lovely considering how important Griff was to me. I decided to drive us to my parent's place, knowing the directions. I also knew for a fact that Y/N loved being a passenger princess as much as he loved driving, so I volunteered to drive. We got in my Range Rover when he turned on the radio as Bruno Mars started playing. Bruno Mars was his favourite artist, visible from the records he had of all of Bruno's albums.
We made it to my parent's place in thirty minutes, and as I parked the car, Y/N pulled out a bottle of wine from the backseat. "When did you get that?" I asked, curious about when he could have had time to pick it up. "I took Daniel and the writer's out for lunch, and then stopped by a winery to pick up some wine on the way back to set," he replied giggling. "Also, I don't think wearing sheer lingerie to your parent's place for dinner is the usual standard," he said smirking. "Wait, how did you know?" I asked flustered, "H, the straps are visible through the thin fabric of your top." he said, now smirking even more. My face was drained of all its colour as we rang the bell.
Y/N's POV
Hailee's face was flushed, thoroughly embarrassed by the choice of innerwear for her parents' place. I just shook my head, mocking her. We rang the doorbell, and five seconds later the door opened. "Hey Hailee, Hey Y/N." I was greeted by Mrs and Mr Steinfeld. "Hello, Mrs and Mr Steinfeld," I said as I hugged both of Hailee's parents. Hailee followed, when Mrs Steinfeld said, "It's Cheri and Peter to you, Y/N." "No, I couldn't refer to you, using your first name. It's either Mrs and Mr Steinfeld, or Mom and Dad. Upto you." I said smiling, "Mom and Dad it is then," said Mr Steinfeld. "Well, I also brought this for you guys. Hailee here told me that you guys are barbecue fanatics so I bought some red wine that pairs well with it." I said handing Mr Steinfeld, the bottle of wine. "So I must be your brother now," I heard Griff shout from across the room. I rushed to hug him. I missed him more than I had expected. "Yes, it is, but you are still Griff to me," I said chuckling.
I saw Mrs Steinfeld head into the kitchen as she said "Settle down, I am just bringing out all the food. Peter could you get the grilled meat in." pointing to the grill in the backyard. Hailee and Griffin took a seat, when Hailee said teasingly, "Mom and Dad, huh? Where's my ring?" "H, are you a diamond or a gemstone kinda girl? A gold, silver or platinum? If gemstone, which one? If a diamond, what size? what design?" I snapped back, leaving her in thought about all the questions I had just asked her. I made my way to the kitchen, "Okay, how can I help Mom?" I asked when Mrs Steinfeld turned around. "Y/N, nope, go take a seat." I shook my head, "I just can't sit by and not help, not how my Mom raised me." I said. She reluctantly handed me a casserole pan with Lasagne, which I carried onto the dining table outside, where Hailee and Griff were seated.
"So Haiz here just recounted the events of Winnipeg airport. Quite the coincidence for the two of you to meet there." "I would call it destiny." Hailee and I replied at the same time. Mrs and Mr Steinfeld made their way to the table with the rest of the food. We sat down and feasted, while Mrs Steinfeld told me all of Hailee's embarrassing stories, from her time in diapers to her time on set as Kate Bishop. The food, the company and the stories were all lovely, and the evening went by swimmingly. I helped Mrs Steinfeld clear and clean all the dishes as Hailee caught up with her Dad. "Y/N." Mrs Steinfeld said, her tone serious. "Yes Mom," I said. "Take care of my little angel, and don't ever think of hurting her," she said. "She is my little angel too, and I wouldn't harm a hair on my head," I replied, making Mrs Steinfeld smile.
As we headed back to the table with a bowl of ice cream for everyone, Mr Steinfeld said "Y/N come join me outside." I realised what this was. I turned to look at Hailee who looked slightly worried. I smiled assuring her it was going to be okay. "Sure," I said as I followed him out. Once outside, he put his hand on my shoulder and said, "Y/N, Hailee's been through hell in her past relationship. I don't want her getting hurt like that again." I took a second to think of an appropriate reply, when I said, "Mr Steinfeld." not seeming like the right time to call him Dad. "Hailee is the greatest thing to happen to me, I would be a fool to ever hurt her. I would be a fool to ever let her go through hell again. And if she ever does go through it, she won't be alone, I will be with her every step of the way." "I am glad she is dating you, Y/N. Plus she told me you are one heck of a cook, which is always a great sign in a guy," he said, his tone uplifting and mood lighter. "Why don't you and Mrs Steinfeld drop by my place one afternoon, I would love to make lunch for you guys. Plus without Hailee, I could squeeze the two of you for a few more embarrassing stories." I replied grinning.
We went back, having desserts, before we got up and said goodbyes. I, Griff and Hailee walked out together. I noticed Griff had driven here in my Chevy. "It's yours." He said, tossing me the keys. "Nope, keep it," I said tossing them back. "I just bought a Ford Mustang 69 for us to work on." I continued. "No fucking way, when do we start?" he replied enthusiastically. "Whenever you want," I told him, getting into the car with Hailee. Griff waved us goodbye as we pulled out of the driveway onto the road. "Mom and Dad loved you, Y/N," Hailee said all happy. "I know they did, H," I replied. In all honesty, I was slightly nervous about meeting them. If they didn't like me, it would strain my relationship with Hailee. So I was really happy that they loved me.
Hailee's POV
The drive back was quiet, I was just happy that Y/N and my parents got along. Y/N parked in my driveway then got out of the car, walked over to my side opening the door for me. He helped me out and then picked me up by my waist. My legs wrapped around his waist, and arms around his neck. He shut the door using his legs before he walked to the front door. I pulled the keys out of my pocket with one hand, while the other still rest around his neck. I handed the keys to him, and he unlocked the door with one hand and pushed it open using my back. He carried me to our bedroom, tossing me on the bed. That's when I said sultrily, "What now babe?"
