I woke up thinking two more days with a big smile on my face. Layin in my bed thinkin about this move to Atlanta near my brother and closer to August. Who I haven't seen in almost a year. I sat up and my curls fell over my face. I leaned back against my headboard and crossed my legs indian style. I took a deep breath and could smell the crisp bacon my mama was cookin bringin back memories to the summer August spent with us
Flashback
I tried to walk over the stupid idiots laid across my living room floor.
Lexi: MAAAAA CAN YOU TELL DJ TO GET HIS FRIENDS...
Janet: Lexi stop yellin they sleep
I rolled my eyes
Lexi: Ugh
I stepped over them like they were hot lava and if I'd touch them I'd burn. I finally made it to the kitchen, mama was cookin pancakes, eggs, grits, bacon and makin some fresh orange juice. I was standing in front of the doorway watching her throw down. I was gonna go back upstairs but August, Dj's bestfriend was standin right behind me when I turned around I jumped.
Lexi: You just scared the shit out of me
Janet: What you just say
She scolded me then looked at August then back at me. I hadn't notice he didn't have a shirt on.
Janet: Boy if you don't go put on some clothes and you or Dj need to get these fools out my house.
He kissed her cheek.
August: Yes ma'am
She smiled.
Janet: Oh Yea Lex baby girl, August gonna be stayin with us for the summer.
I just smiled and nodded.
Lexi: Ok mama
He blushed and she rolled her eyes then waved him off. August woke Dj up then the rest of their company.

Janet: Lexi you gone come eat
breakfast
I snapped out of my memories
Lexi: Yea ma I'm comin
I unfolded my legs and let my feet hit the cold wooden floor. I slipped on my house shoes and grabbed a hair tie off my dresser and put my hair in a messy ponytail. When I walked downstairs to the kitchen my mom was flipping thru channels
Lexi: Good morning mama
She smiled
Janet: You in a good mood this morning huh?
I smiled and grabbed a plate
Lexi: Yea I guess I am
She got up and fixed me some orange juice
Janet: This wouldn't have anything to do with moving closer to August would it
I kinda smiled and stuff my mouth with bacon
Lexi: I don't know what your talkin about
Flashback
I was sitting on my bed eating my breakfast and watching TV when August knocked on my door.
I'll admit I froze a little but I tried to play it off
August: Lex yo brother wanted to know where his game controller was
His thick New Orleans accent mesmerized me for moment but Dj snappin his fingers at me snapped me out of it. I pushed his hand out my face
Lexi: Move
I said rollin my eyes. He frowned
Dj: What you and ya friend do with my controller
I got up and grabbed them off the dresser then handed em to him
August: Thank ya shawty
I blushed a little and smiled
Lexi: Welcome
Janet: Come clean this kitchen Lexi

After we ate I cleaned and packed those dishes
Janet: Ima go grab some more boxes
She said grabbing her purse and keys off the counter
Lexi: Ok I guess I'll start back packin and cleaning
Janet: Ok baby I'll be back
She left and I went upstairs and to my room. I sat at the edge of my bed looking around the room tryin to process everything I had left to do. I looked at the open boxes next to my door and realized they were full so I needed to tape them up. I stood up and looked for the tape then remembered it was in the guest room. I walked in there lookin for the tape. I saw it on the nightstand next to one of Dj's old controllers. I looked around the room going back to that summer.
Flashback
Janet: Now I don't want no fast tail ass girls in my house
She stared Dj and August down
Dj: Why you ain't tell Lexi bout her lil boys...
She looked at me then smiled
Janet: Because I kno my baby still a virgin
Lexi: Maaama
I said folding my arms
She scrunched her eyebrows
Janet: What girl
I rolled my eyes
Lexi: Nothing
She laughed at me then reached in her purse before leaving out. She held money in her hand then handed it to me.
Janet: Don't spend it all in one day.
Lexi: Ma this like $150.
She smirked
Janet: Hold on to that for a week and I might give you more next week.
I hugged her neck
Lexi: Thank ya mama you're the best. Dj smiled and leaned on her shoulder then held out his hand
Dj: Can I get some of that?
She looked at his face then his hand and hit it
Janet: Don't you have a job
Dj: Yea but..
Janet: Lexi don't so go away and Lex... keep my house spotless this summer.. and that'll be your payment Lexi: Wait the whole house.
She nodded
Janet: Yep...
I looked down at my hand then around the house. We had two well three levels. The basement which was like a big ass game/chill room for us. Then our main level... the kitchen, dinning room, living room etc. Then there is our room level. Five bedrooms, one for an computer room/office, one for guest which August will be in there and then it's my room, my brother's room and my mama's room. I had drowned her out but could still hear her goin on and on about making sure our rooms stayed clean and so on and so on.
Janet: Lexi... Lexi..
Lexi: Huh.
She snapped her fingers in my face Dj: Damn girl
Janet: Watch ya mouth Dj... Lexi? Lexi: Yes ma
Janet: Everything but their rooms and mine is to be spotless.
I nodded and shrugged my shoulders
Lexi: That's fine
Janet: Come on Dj walk ya mama to the car.
He opened the door for her and August flopped on the couch then started watchin tv. I turned around went upstairs to my room.
