August: So how you kno him
He whispered to me while we were in the kitchen. I walked around to him and got between him and the counter
Lexi: He helped me move to my first apartment out here when me and mama came to Atlanta
August: Thats the only time he seen you and just felt the need to call you out
Lexi: Well we seen each other in LA
August: LA
He paused and put his hands on the counter blocking me from moving
August: He the reason you was late
Lexi: August not like..
He moved and went towards the living room where everyone else was at. I grabbed his arm and pulled him back
August: Did y'all fux
Lexi: No I swear
His projected his voice
August: Let me go
Lexi: Its not that serious August please be quite
His voice grew louder
August: Stop Lexi
He peeled my fingers from around his arm and walked out the kitchen. I followed him in the living room. He grabbed his keys
Dj: Aug you wanna...
August walked out the house and didn't say anything.
They all looked at me with confusion written on their faces. I grabbed my hand bag
Lexi: Dj ima call you
Elise ran to me and gave me a hug
Lexi: Ill see you later baby girl
Lisa: Is everything alright
Lexi: Yea auntie I just have to go
I walked to the door and Dj stood up .
Dj: Everything good Lexi
Lexi: Yes Dj ima call you
I walked passed him hoping August hadn't left when I got outside he was sitting in the car. I got in and he pulled off. The car ride to his place was silent and awkward. I decided once we got there I was just gonna grab my things and go to my apartment. August went to the kitchen and I went upstairs. I grabbed my Michael Kors tote out his closet and started packing my clothes then went to the bathroom and grabbed my toothbrush, hair brush, makeup and perfumes. I tossed them in the bag, grabbed my phone charger, zipped up my bag and headed downstairs. I looked in the kitchen but he wasn't in there.
Lexi: August
I called out to him but no answer. I figured I'd just call him when he cooled down. I walked towards the front door when it opened. August came in, looking confused.
August: Why you got ya bag
Lexi: I was...
He reached for my bag and pried it out of my hand. He shut the door and walked passed me
August: Lexi every time we argue I don't want you to leave
I followed behind him
Lexi: Then don't stop talkin to me
August: So you can give me the silent treatment but I can't
We walked into the bedroom.
Lexi: I.. well.. Chris and I never had relations
August: I kno I feel stupid cuz he was able to give you the time you deserve
I poked my bottom lip out and stood in front of him then put my arms around his waist and looked up at him with a sad face.
Lexi: I love the time that you give me
He sucked his teeth and rolled his eyes
Lexi: I do I just wish I could have more of it
August: I kno and I wanna give you more
Lexi: But..
August: But you kno I'm workin
I sighed and loosened my hold on him
Lexi: I guess I need to find a way to occupy my time
He laughed and pulled me all the way into him
August: Yea put that business degree to work
He put his hands on the small of my back then went down to my ass and squeezed. I stood on my tiptoes and gave him a kiss. Travis knocked on his bedroom door
Travis: Love birds
I let August go then turned around and he looked up
Lexi: When you get back
Travis: Just now
August pulled me back into him so I could feel his thickness on my ass. I smiled and looked at him
August: Iight Trav close the doe
His accent was thick and gave me chills. Travis shook his head and closed the door. August picked me up and tossed me on the bed.
August: Remember where we left off in LA
I smiled and we started taking off my clothes.

Lexi: For what
Lisa: A job
I was at their new place helping them finish unpacking.
Lexi: I don't wanna be a mover
They laughed
Robert: You don't have to be
Lisa: He runs a business and he's looking for a secretary
Lexi: Really
Robert: Yea and I'm sure with your schooling and little experience he would jump on it
I thought to myself "Yea that's why he'll do it"
Lexi: Ion kno I mean...
Lisa: It's a great opportunity
Robert: And it pays good
I started struggling with a box
Robert: I mean if you don't mind working long hours
He handed me a box cutter
Lisa: I'm sure she doesn't mind August will be in the studio that'll be time spent
Lexi: Ok what's his number
Chris: Who's number
He came thru the side door to the living room
Lisa: Chris baby what are you doing here
He looked down at me. I fixes my hair feeling like I was looking a mess then stopped when I realized what I was doing
Robert: Yea son is everything good
Chris: Yea pop I was just comin to check on my two favorite people
Lisa: Aw baby that's sweet bit us old people will be just fine
She said getting up and dusting lent off her pants. Uncle Robert got up too so I did as well. They walked in the kitchen and in the process of trying to follow them Chris stopped me.
Chris: You not gone speak beautiful
Lexi: Hey Chris
He smiled and walked into the kitchen
Robert: You think you could get Lexi here a job
He looked down at me. The sun hit his eyes making them go from green to blue in certain angles
Chris: I am lookin for an assistant
Lisa: We told her that
She pulled down a few glasses
Lisa: Y'all want something to drink
Chris hadn't taken his eyes off me. I blushed and looked away.
Lexi: Um sure as long it's some of your famous lemonade
Robert: You always loved her lemonade
My Auntie laughed she started pouring our glasses
Lisa: Whats funny is your mama gave me the recipe, Chris you want some
He broke away from looking at me
Chris: Yea mama Lisa you kno I love your lemonade
Lexi: Really tho mama gave that to you
Lisa: Yea and vowed she wouldn't make anymore cuz it was..
Lexi: My dad's favorite, speaking of
They looked at me. I walked back into the living room and went to the box I opened. I saw a picture of my mom and dad. I took it back in the kitchen and held it up
Lexi: Can I have this
She chuckled a little
Lisa: No chile but I will make you a copy
Robert: It'll look just like the original
I laughed
Lexi: Ok
Chris: So back to this job
Lexi: Right
Chris: When are you looking to start
Lexi: As soon as possible
He smiled.. in my gut I knew this was a bad idea... but why wasnt I going with my instinct. Auntie handed us our glasses
Chris: Alright well if you come by my office tomorrow morning we can discuss everything and go over the necessary paperwork
Lexi: Ok what time and where is your office
I took a sip of the lemonade. My eyes rolled back when the bittersweet hit my taste buds. Uncle Robert got up from the table and Auntie walked back into the living room
Robert: Lexi baby girl I think you've helped us enough today
He laughed and gave me a hug.
Robert: Son I'll see you later
Chris: Yea pop you will
They did this man hug type thing and unc went upstairs. I went to get my purse and keys. When I was walking to my car Chris stopped me
Chris: Lexi give me your number I'll text you all the information and what you'll need tomorrow
Lexi: Oh right it's um 470-555-0903
He typed it in his phone and took a picture of me
Lexi: Did you just..
He laughed
Chris: For contact purposes only
Lexi: I look a mess
He smiled
Chris: Well put it like this I'm the only one that'll see it and I've seen you like this already
He laughed and I playfully pushed him
Chris: But seriously tho you're beautiful either way
I smiled
Lexi: Thanks Chris I'll see you tomorrow
I got in my car and he watched me pull off. When I got to August's place I walked inside. Travis and his girl was boo'd u on the sofa
Lexi: Where's August
Travis pointed towards the back door. I walked outside he was sitting in a lawn chair and laid back letting the sun tan him a little. I stood next to him
Lexi: Guess what
He looked up and put his arm around my legs
August: Wassup baby
Lexi: I found a job
I put my leg over him and sat on my knees right below his waist. He placed his hands on my thighs
August: Thats great baby where
He asked and I paused. He twisted his lips
August: Where
I took a deep breath
Lexi: It's as Chris's assistant but I promise nothing will happen unc and Lisa told me about the job and..
He shook his head
August: I trust you Lexi
I smiled and he smiled back at me. I leaned down, kissed him and laid on his chest. He put his arms around me and I stuffed mine under him
August: As long as he knows you're mine
Lexi: He knows
I looked up and kissed his cheek. We laid there hugged up and watched the sun set.
