Its been a few weeks since Chris pulled that last minute dinner shit with Lexi and our schedules have been clashing a lot lately. Her working long days and me in and out of state. So she finally got the weekend off and we wanted to spend some time together. Lexi offered to watch Elise for the weekend so while she was at work I went to pick her up from Dj. I pulled in and got out. I knocked on the door but it was open

I heard laughin comin from the living room. I walked in further. I looked over and saw Tatianna on the couch craddled over Dj kissin him. I laughed
August: Aye take my advice and tell her before she finds out
Ti looked up
Tati: Oh my God
She jumped up. Dj looked back at me
Dj: You got jokes but you aint get my message
I shook my head
August: Naw what message
Dj: Elise wit auntie and unc
August: Damn naw I ain't get it
Tati: Can you leave now
Dre tapped her leg
Dj: Don't be rude
I shook my head
August: Woadie lemme holla at ya
Tati: Ugh seriously
She flopped down on the couch pouting. Dj laughed at her and patted her leg. He got up and we walked to the kitchen

August: I kno it took a min for you to accept us n shit
Dj: Yea
He folded his arms and leaned against the wall
August: I just wanna do right by yo sister you should kno that by now mane
Dj: I do Yung I respect you for steppin up and bein a man and taking care of her
August: Then you wouldn't mind if I ask her to marry me

She came in the kitchen with her mouth covered staring at me. Dj shook his head at her and laughed.
Dj: As long as you promise to continue doin right by her..
He paused and watched Tati hop on her tiptoes
Dj: You got my blessin
We dapped each other up.
August: Thank you mane that means a lot
Dj: You were always like a brother to me
August: We was hell back then
We laughed
Dj: Running thru the streets and hoes
Tati stopped smilin and hit his arm. He laughed and pulled her into him
Dj: I'm sorry baby
Tati: Its ok anyways she gonna be so excited

She looked confused
Tati: I'm not
Dre laughed
Dj: You gotta a big mouth girl
She rolled her eyes and nudged him with her elbow
Tati: I don't see you complaining
He folded over
Dj: Damn razor arms
Tati: Whatever now August have you picked a ring yet
August: Not yet
Tati: Good I wanna go I kno what she likes
She smiled, grabbed a bottle of water and walked out the kitchen

She yelled from the living room

I walked towards the front door
August: Don't say shit Tati
She looked back at me and smiled
Tati: I won't call me tho for the ring

I headed over to get Elise. I stood at the door for about ten minutes after I knocked. Lisa opened the door with Elise in her hands
Elise: Unc Augist
August: Hey baby girl
I reached for her and she came to me. Lisa opened the door all the way and let me in
Lisa: Dj told us you were comin to get her earlier
August: Yea I didn't get his message that she would be here
Lisa: Oh ok
We walked to the kitchen, she was cookin dinner.

Lisa: Upstairs in his study
She walked to the end of the stairs and yelled
Lisa: August here Robert come downstairs
Robert: Alright
He yelled back. She came back in and continued to prepare dinner.
Lisa: Yea he's been depressed since he lost his job
She confessed

Lisa: Yea that's why we moved here. Real estate is better in Atlanta but you kno having Chris around he feels he wasn't the best parent ya kno
She put her pan in the oven. Robert walked in the kitchen

We shook hands
August: Can we talk
Robert: Yea come on
Lisa grabbed Elise out my arms
Lisa: Give me her I'll go get her bag
They went into the sitting area. Unc walked to the refrigerator and got him a beer
Robert: Want one
August: Naw cuz I gotta drive with Elise in the car
Robert: Right you do.. what is it that you wanna talk about
August: I wanna ask Lexi to marry me
Lisa walked in the kitchen with her mouth open. Robert took a sip of his beer
Lisa: You serious August
August: Yes ma'am
Robert: You love her
August: Yes sir
I said stern and was proud to say
Robert: Then you got my blessing
Lisa: Mine too
She hugged me and kissed my cheek. I grabbed Elise
August: Thanks y'all
Lisa: Thank you for comin to us
Robert: You talk to Dj
August: Yea before I came here
Lisa covered her cheeks
Lisa: I'm so happy have you gotten a ring
August: No but Tati is gonna make sure I get the right one
Robert: Sounds like her
Lisa: Well congratulations baby
She gave me a kiss and went to grab Elise's bag
August: And I'll let y'all kno the plans for the proposal
Lisa: Here you go and yes please keep us posted
She gave me the bag and we left. I walked in the house to the smell of cooking food.
August: Something smells good in here boi
Elise laughed. Lexi came around the corner smiling
Lexi: Hi baby
She stepped on her tiptoes and kissed me.
Lexi: Hi my niecey piecey
She grabbed her out my arms and I tossed her bag on the sofa
August: What we havin for dinner
Lexi: Jambalaya, corn on the cob, steamed greens and dinner rolls
August: Sounds yummy
Lexi: Sit down ima fix ya plate
She put Elise in the highchair we bought her for the house and I sat down. Lexi brought our plates and juice for Elise and red wine for us
August: How was your day
Lexi: It was good how was yours
August: Successful
I smiled she smiled and shook her head
Lexi: Successful how
August: You'll find out soon enough
She shook her head
August: You talk to yo uncle lately
Lexi: Not really why
August: I had to get Elise from them today yo auntie said he was depressed and the reason they moved up here was cuz he lost his job
She sat back in the chair and took a sip of her wine.
Lexi: I didn't kno
August: Yea she said they moved here because of the real estate
Lexi: Yea because she's an agent but I guess I'll go check in tomorrow
August: You should baby
I got up and kissed her then grabbed our empty plates. I washed dishes while she gave Elise a bath. I took a shower while she played with Elise then she got in after me. Elise had fallen asleep and I laid her in the middle, between us. Lexi came out the bathroom and climbed in the bed.
Lexi: I've been watching you August
I laughed
August: What you mean
She smiled and pulled the covers over her legs and slide down.
Lexi: Just how you are with kids... Elise and your nieces nephew... I just think you're ready
A big ass grin came across my face
August: You serious
Lexi: Yes and I'm ready
August: You would tell me now
I looked down at Elise, sound asleep and Lexi laughed
Lexi: We got plenty if time for that
I kissed her and she laid down and went to sleep. I stayed up a little while longer and flipped thru channels.
