Unaware to the three asleep in his room, Norman could hear everything. If he had the energy to open his eyes, it would be wasted because everyone was asleep. Norman was wide awake in his comatose state. The anesthetic wore off thirty minutes ago, and now he was fully aware of what he could hear.
Inside of his head he was screaming at Mingus that he was okay. Norman was shouting to Emily that he didn't understand what Steven had meant when he said sleep with her. Reedus was kicking the shit out of Yeun if he was actually screwing Emily quietly from their chair. But all of the cacophony of thoughts were trapped in Norman's head. He couldn't act upon the thoughts though. He was incapable of moving. So he just timidly listened to everything with closed eyes.
