Norman was asleep in his trailer onset. They were filming scenes for the second part of the season that would air on Valentines. Most of the scenes involved the carnage at Alexandria for this episode, not Norman, Michael, and Sofia. It was hot today and Norman was wearing a t-shirt and athletic shorts. He had a couch in his trailer which he now used for a bed.
Emily was in Atlanta working with her new label. She didn't mind the hours at first, but now she was stressed and tired all the time. It put a bit of a strain on Norman and her, but they managed. She pulled out her phone and dialed his number.
Norman felt his phone vibrate in his pocket before he heard it ring. He pulled out his phone to answer it. The ringing grew louder as he brought it to his ear. Finally hitting the green answer icon, he mumbled, "Hello?"
"Hey," said Emily.
"What's up?"
"You wanna go out?"
"Sure."
"Meet me back at our apartment at around six," Emily said, hanging up before Norman could reply. Emily sounded a little off today. Norman knew she was stressed and assumed it was fatigue.
When Norman arrived home Emily's car was already parked in front of their apartment. He parked his bike and went in the building. Climbing the stairs, Norman took out his keys. Opening the door he found Emily sitting on their couch plucking away at her guitar. Norman sat down next to her and kissed her cheek.
"Hey, beautiful," he said.
"Hey, handsome," Emily replied.
"What did ya wanna meet about?"
Emily pulled a Manila envelope from between the couch cushions, handing it to Norman. He opened it and read the contents carefully. Looking back at Emily, she had a scared look on her face. He wrapped an arm around her shoulders.
"A deal in L.A. is big, Ems," Norman said, "Your career could skyrocket."
"But us," Emily said.
"What about us?" Norman said.
"Uh, hello, we're dating," Emily said.
"I know."
"Wouldn't it be difficult for us to see each other?"
"We'll figure it out."
Emily pulled another folder from between the cushions. It was stamped with the Emory University Hospital seal and titled from the sonogram department. She quietly handed it to Norman. His hands began to tremble as he took the folder. People don't get sonograms unless they might be pregnant. Emily handing him this meant that they might be pregnant.
"Are you-" Norman started.
"I think so," she nodded.
