The One-night Stand

No. Absolutely not! There had to be something wrong with it. A malfunction of some sort.

Harry stared at the test in his hand and then he did what any reasonable person would do (after he screamed). He peed on another stick.

Ten tests later he had to face the truth. He was pregnant. How? Well, he knew how babies were made, of course he did, but it had only been one time. Well, five but that wasn't the point. He was on suppressants, for crying out loud!

When the seriousness of his situation dawned on him he sat down and buried his face in his hands. He was pregnant! With a one-night stand! He didn't even remember the alpha's first name, definitely not his last name. He tried really hard to try and remember. It had been something French, right? Luc? No.

Holy crap! He was having a baby! The thought of getting an abortion crossed his mind but he immediately ruled against it. He knew that it wouldn't be easy being a single parent, especially not as an unclaimed Omega, but he had always wanted children. He could do it.

He thought about the guy he had a one-night stand with. They had met at a club in London and they had both been drunk. He didn't think the alpha was from London because he had a northern accent but he could live in London anyway. He felt really bad. The Alpha deserved to know but Harry had no idea how to find him. It was like searching for a needle in a haystack. He tried to remember something more but that whole night was hazy, especially since he went into heat the next day, totally unplanned.

Harry's mouth fell open. Now wait a minute! His suppressants hadn't worked and the guy triggered his heat. Had he met his soulmate? No, life couldn't be that cruel. He pushed that thought aside. He had enough to deal with as it was.

He stared at himself in the mirror and put his hands on his flat stomach. A baby was growing inside of him. His face slowly broke out in a happy smile. Tears welled in his eyes. He was having a baby!

He sat down by the computer and tried to look for the alpha he had sex with but since he had nothing to go on it was pointless. Then he called his mum to tell her the news. She was happy but worried. She suggested that he would move back home and he promised her that he would think about it.

He didn't have to think about it much. He lived in a one-room apartment and he couldn't afford a bigger one with his crappy Omega salary. Raising a child was expensive.

Another aspect to consider was as an unmated Omega unmated Alphas would find him extra alluring while he was pregnant and that was a safety hazard.

Also, life as he knew it was about to change. He needed a plan for the future. Luckily he would be able to apply for the Omega pregnancy insurance. Since it was a risk for him to work while he was pregnant the government paid his salary. Then he would go on paternity leave. He had time to figure out his next step in life.

The decision was made but first, he had to see a doctor to confirm his pregnancy. He got an appointment the next day and he cried happy tears then as well. He called his mum and took her up on her offer to move back home. She and his stepdad came and helped him pack up his apartment and he gave it up.

It took him some time to settle down in his old family home. His mother offered him his sister's old room as a nursery after discussing it with his sister. She was totally okay with it and congratulated him.

Since they all were a bit surprised and confused he had to tell them that the baby was a result of a one-night stand. Luckily they didn't judge him.

The months passed. He was getting bigger and bigger and he took a picture of his belly every day. His mum and sister helped him set up the nursery and took turns following him to his doctor's appointments.

His sister joined him in the delivery room and he had a little boy and named him Leander but everyone called him Lee.

Harry didn't care that he got much to nothing worth of sleep or that he was a single parent. He had never been happier. Lee had curly hair like him but it was lighter and he had blue eyes. A reminder that there was an alpha out there unaware of this perfect little boy they created during a night of passion. Harry felt bad about it but there was nothing he could do.
