"I've talked to Oli. He's willing to rent his house to you for 800 pounds a month to cover his mortgage and other expenses like the fee for picking up the trash. You have to pay the utility bill, it's about 1300 pounds a year." Louis informed him as soon as he stepped inside the door.

Harry's mouth fell open.
"That's really affordable. Are you sure? I don't wanna rip him off. He could probably get much more if he rented it to someone else."

"He wants to rent it to you." Louis smiled.

"Well, I would be a fool if I didn't take him up on that offer. He has a new attendant!" Harry said excitedly.

"Don't you want to see the place first? We could drive to Donny now. I have the keys. Lee would obviously come with us." Louis suggested.

"Yeah, okay. Let me just pack what we need. Give me a minute." Harry smiled.

He handed Louis their son and ran upstairs to get what he needed. Ten minutes later they were ready to go.
"Let me just get the car seat from my car or should I just drive my own car? Then you don't have to drive a second time back and forth to Holmes Chapel."

"I have a car seat in me car. Bought it yesterday. I don't mind driving you home afterward. Then I get to spend some more time with Lee, eh, and you of course." Louis shrugged.

He bought a car seat? Harry just stared at him for a second. His chest felt warm. Louis really took this seriously even though he had just sprung it on him a couple of days ago.
"Alright then. Let's go." Harry smiled.

Louis put Lee in the car seat and made sure he was secured. He smiled at the boy and ruffled his hair before he closed the door and walked around the car to get to the driver's side. Harry took a seat in the back so he could entertain Lee if needed.

They took off. Louis drove carefully and Harry was relieved that he wasn't one of those maniacs that always drove too fast. Lee fell asleep.
"I must say that you're handling this with ease. If I had found out that I have a kid out of nowhere I think I would be a lot more freaked out at first." Harry said.

Louis looked at him through the rearview mirror.
"Oh, I freaked out at first, trust me. After you left me office I was fucking hyperventilating." Louis chuckled.

"No wonder." Harry snorted.

"As soon as I had managed to calm down I started to think about it and I've always wanted kids, Harry. Maybe this wasn't the way I was planning for it to happen but life doesn't always go as planned, and the little lad is a blessing." Louis smiled.

"He is." Harry beamed and put his hand protectively on Lee's knee.

"You're a great parent, Harry and I promise you that I will do everything to be one as well as long as you let me." Louis said, sounding insecure.

"As long as you treat him right I'm not gonna interfere." Harry promised.

"I will. I already love him, Harry. It's hard to describe. I can't believe something so perfect came out of one drunken night." Louis said.

"Right?" Harry giggled.

"Can I ask you something without you getting angry?" Louis wondered.

"That's tough to promise but I'll do my best. What is it?" Harry asked.

"That night... I clearly remember that you told me that you're on suppressants. Was that a lie?" Louis asked.

No! I was! I am!" Harry immediately said.

"Okay, but I'm still a bit confused about this. You can only get pregnant while you're in heat and with an alpha in rut." Louis pointed out.

"Well, I went to heat a couple of hours after we parted ways." Harry shrugged.

"Huh, I went into rut." Louis replied.

"Well, there's your answer then. Pre-rut and heat. I'm sure you can google how common it is to get pregnant during that but since we did a DNA test it's pretty clear to me at least that's the explanation." Harry said.

"True." Louis smiled, totally dodging the fact that Harry's suppressant failed and that they both went into heat and rut after a night together and what that could actually mean. The truth was staring him right in the face but he chose to ignore it, and so was Harry. They didn't need to complicate things further and Louis had a girlfriend anyway. Harry needed to focus on getting his life back on track and how to make this new situation work for Lee.

Harry looked out the window as they reached Doncaster. Louis drove to a nice-looking neighborhood and finally parked the car outside a house. Lee had woken up ten minutes ago and was still a little sleepy. Harry removed him from the car seat and Lee wrapped his little arms around his neck and buried his face against his chest. Harry hugged him close as they got out of the car.
"Look Lee, this is where we're gonna live." Harry said softly.

It was a typical English stone house with two floors. Louis unlocked the door.
"There's an alarm. You can always have the door and windows alarmed to feel safe but it's a quiet neighborhood."

"Good." Harry smiled. Moving into a house by himself as an unmated omega was a risk but one he was willing to take for Lee to grow up like this.

The kitchen was a dream. The living room was a good size and the house had three bedrooms. It was perfect.
"Oli said that you get to choose if you want to rent the house's furniture or not."

"Ehm, well those lovely couches won't stay white for long with Lee in the house. If it's not too much trouble I rather have my own furniture instead of worrying that we will destroy Oli's." Harry replied.

"Alright, I will make sure the house is emptied in a couple of days." Louis smiled.

It was time for lunch so Louis invited them over to his house. They locked the door behind them and walked over the lawn.
