Luis, Caio, and Matheus arrived excitedly at the event happening in the main square of the city. The lights on the trees, the music, and the people enjoying the attractions and rides made the night feel magical.
"That's beautiful," commented Luis.
"I told you it wouldn't be a cult," joked Caio.
"Not this time," laughed Luis.
"Oh man, you're awesome," replied Caio, also laughing.
As they walked around the event, a man with cotton candy passed by them, followed by another man announcing a nearby attraction.
"Come and test your blessing in the most blessed game of all! With just 3 darts, you can knock down three giants!" announced the attraction's owner.
The man saw the friends and approached them immediately:
"The pilgrims will just stand there collecting dust, free yourselves from evil thoughts and come test the power of your faith!""Pilgrims?" asked Luis, trying to hold back a smile.
"Sounds cool! I'm in!" exclaimed Matheus. "Three stones, sir!"
Matheus handed over the money and began trying to knock down the giant, but without success. Despite his persistence, Caio and Luis convinced him to give up and enjoy the other attractions.
"Okay. I haven't given up on you yet, Goliath!" joked Matheus, as they all laughed.
The booth owner called out to the boy, "Hey kid! You should give it a try. I sense a great aura of goodness in you. You're the chosen one!"
"You convinced me," joked Luis. "Give me three stones!"
After receiving the stones, Luis aimed at the giant with the slingshot. In the first few attempts, he missed the target, but he didn't give up. He waited for the right moment and finally managed to knock down the giant. The friends celebrated, and Luis jumped for joy.
"Feel free to choose your prize!" said the booth owner. "They're right over there on the counter!"
"Man, that's awesome!" praised Caio.
"What are you going to choose?" asked Matheus.
Luis looked at the counter and saw a bible, a children's bible, plush ant dolls holding a heart that said "Jesus loves you," as well as Christian accessories and t-shirts. In the midst of them was a flashy rubber fish.
"I'll take the fish," said Luis.
The man grabbed the large bear and handed it to Luis. "Congratulations, kid! You deserve it," winked the booth owner. "Your dog will love it!"
"Thank you, sir! But I don't have a dog," said Luis.
The friends shouted, calling for him.
"Luis, come on!" shouted Matheus.
"Have a great party!" he said.
"Likewise, sir!" said Luis and quickly ran to join his friends.
They continued on to other attractions.
