Chapter 14

"I can't believe you did the deed with him",Lisa said to Jennie. "I can't believe you kissed Jimin?",she replied. "Oh please we all knew that it was happening sooner or later",Lisa said blushing. "That's true",Jennie replied. "What are you gonna do about that guy with your mom and V's situation?",Lisa asked. "V and I decided not to say anything, but I want to meet Bruce and I asked my mom",she replied. "Did she say yes?",Lisa asked frantically.

"Surprisingly yes, but she hasn't said if he's my dad or not",Jennie said deep in thought. "I think it's safe to say that he is, but let's not get carried away",Lisa said.

"Carried away with what?",V asked as he and Jimin came in. "Um...could you guys give us a minute?",Jennie asked Lisa and Jimin. "Sounds important?",V said after the other new couple had left. "Yes...um, well my mom told me that I'm meeting Bruce tomorrow and I want you to be there, but you don't have to come if you don't want to",she said nervously. "I'll be there",he said immediately. "Y-you wil-l?",she said stammering. "For as long as you need me I'll be there",he said bringing her into a warm embrace.

The next day was possibly one of the biggest days in both Jennie and V's life. "Where is he?",Jennie asked pacing back and forth outside her house. Her and Lisa had been up since dawn waiting for the boys to arrive, after a while of waiting Jennie decided to go in to meet Bruce.

"Hi...are you alone?", Bruce said when he saw Jennie cautiously stepping in. Both CL and Bruce were already seated down on the couch.

"Sorry I'm late",a voice said stepping in next to her. Jennie looked to her side to see V smiling brightly at her, "Did you doubt me?",he asked. "Not for a second",she replied. The two intertwined their fingers and walked into the living room with Jimin and Lisa following closely behind them.

"First things first",Jennie said. "What's that?",Bruce asked. "Are you my father?",she asked without a trace of hesitance. "...Y-yes I am",Bruce said looking at CL for a second. "Hi dad",Jennie said. Everyone was silent for about a few seconds, but it seemed like an eternity. "Hi Jennie how have you been?",he asked cautiously. "Good we've all been fine, how's your life been?",she asked.

"Good, I got a job and got remarried",he said. "You got a job and a new family?",she asked. "Yes I did",he said not being able to keep eye contact with her. "What was wrong with your old life that you left to find a new one?",she asked. "You couldn't be strong enough to stay with your family and just left to find a new one?",she asked again. "I'm sorry... that's all I can say to you because I can't go back, but what was I suppose to do because I couldn't support my family and I lost my job",he said trying to reason with her.

"Your job as a father was to stay, it was always to stay, she said getting emotional.

"Ani Unnie be strong",Lisa whispered. "You know what dad this is Lisa, she's been more of a father to me than you",Jennie said  looking at Lisa with gratitude. "Thank you for taking care of Jennie when I couldn't",Bruce said regretfully. "Yep you really missed out",Lisa said a bit spitefully.

"Do you remember when I was being bullied at school and you came to pick me up, at home you told me that when I feel scared I should stand my ground and fight for what I want",Jennie said to her father. "Why bring this up?",he asked. "You made me feel better and took care of me like a parent should have, do you remember?",she asked. "I'm sorry I have no clue",he said.

"Because it wasn't you, it was my mom who made me feel better when I cried and mom was the one who picked me up whenever I couldn't pick myself up"she said putting a supportive arm around her mother. "I was so worried that I contemplated switching schools for Jennie",CL said tearing up. "Where were you?",V asked looking at Bruce as he placed a hand on CL's shoulder.

"I wasn't around",Bruce said swallowing hard. "How couldn't you be around?",Jimin asked. "Because things got hard and he couldn't deal",Jennie said. "Jennie, please it's your father",CL whispered. "Mom's still willing to defend you, but I'm not. Look I'm not hear to yell at you",she said.

"You're not?",he asked. "I use to think I was the reason you left, but now I know it wasn't my fault. Listen I know what it's like to feel pressure, but I have people who support me and you have you your people",Jennie said looking at V. "Are you a friend of hers?",Bruce asked V.

"Friend, protector, support system, knight in shining armor boyfriend or whatever you want to call it",V said smirking at Jennie who gave him a proud smile. "I see...well thank you for helping Jennie grow into the great person she is",Bruce said. "Nope she did that all on her own",he said.

"I think we've said all we needed to",CL said. "If it's alright I would love to get to know you",Bruce said before leaving. "Mom?",Jennie said looking to CL.

"It's your call, but I think it would be alright",she said caressing Jennie's cheek...

As time went on Jennie got to know her father better and developed a stable relationship, Lisa and Jimin got closer and made their relationship official on social media. CL made an investment that took her company to the next level...

As for Jennie and V...

"Moving in with you was the best decision of my life",Jennie told V as he held her in his arms.

"Knocking you down was the best decision of my life"....
