This is a collection of One shots and short stories based around Filler Chapter ideas based on the fanfiction, Hikari, as well as some of the anime's OVA episodes. They're entirely just for fun, and something extra and simple to keep exercising my writing muscles until it is time for me to head off for uni, so any feedback is appreciated.

Happy reading!

(Part One)

Miyuki's eye twitched as soon as she felt something soft and wet move across her face. Letting out a quiet sigh, she turned over in her bed, her mind still foggy with sleep as she did so. The same thing happened again, so she tugged her blanket beneath her head, thinking it might've simply been her pillow tickling her in the early morning breeze –

Huh...? What the...?

Her brows furrowed slightly when she felt the sensation move across her cheek once more, and the action quickly became repetitive until she peeked an eye open and found herself gazing into the big, dark eyes of her puppy. Miyuki lowered her blanket as she rolled over back into her original position, both eyes opening this time. She blinked slowly, her blurring vision starting to clear as she looked up at the light, furry creature seated on her abdomen.

"...Poncho...?" She murmured, rubbing her eyes. She sat up and Poncho, his tongue lolling out excitedly, placed his two front paws on her chest and proceeded to continue licking her face. "Oof! Thank you for that. I'm awake now, but... how did you get into my room...? What time is it?"

She rubbed her cheek, wondering just how he could've gotten into her bedroom since he slept in her father's room instead. Shaking her head, she decided to figure that out later. Miyuki pulled back the blankets completely and reached over to her bedside to open the drapes covering her window and check to see what time it could be, but she paused when there came a soft knock at her door.

"Yucchan," Sir Nighteye called, opening the door of her room and taking a look inside. Miyuki noticed healready wore his business suit, completed with his red, polka-dot tie. "Oh, good morning, Yucchan. Did you rest well in your new bedroom? The smell of paint didn't bother you, did it?"

"No, sir – I mean, Oto-san," Miyuki responded with a soft smile. She climbed out of bed and slipped on her house slippers, Poncho nestled in her arms. "I had a restful night here, thank you."

"I'm glad to hear that." Mirai smiled tenderly, happy to see his daughter adjusting comfortably to her new home. "But, I came to tell you – school will be starting soon and you need to start getting ready."

"Ah, right! Thank you so much," Miyuki exclaimed, eyes widening as she remembered it was still a school day. She flew off her bed and Mirai looked on, curious, as she began performing her morning routine, starting with making her bed. "I-I'll be downstairs shortly." Mirai nodded and left, calling Poncho to his side before he closed the door to give her time to get ready.

As he made his way downstairs, Mirai pushed up the rim of his glasses before taking out the book he'd been reading: 'Just the two of us: How to be a good single father to your child,' and ticking off an item from the list he had created for himself in his small notebook –

Establishing a connection with your son or daughter – get involved in their academic life as much as possible.

Mirai smiled to himself, pocketing the book in the jacket of his business suit before returning downstairs to continue preparing breakfast for the two of them.
