The day was already over, the sun having set hours ago and the moon taking its place in the sky with the stars dancing all around it. There were so many of them, too, it reminded Miyuki of snowflakes as she looked out the slightly fogging window, eyes half-lidded. It hadn't snowed for the last couple of days but there was still a chill in the air. And since she was the one sitting closest to the window, it seeped right through her Mirko-themed jumper and leggings. She hugged her knees to her chest, shivering and yawning quietly. She blinked lazily, eyes drifting back to the board game they'd been playing with for hours now, it seemed so endless. Who was winning this time around? -
BAM!!
Katsuki slammed the table. Miyuki jumped, startled out of her foggy daze as the Monopoly board turned on its side and all their properties, yen, and pieces went flying across the room. Izuku dodged, narrowly missing his piece colliding with his head.
"You lazy punks landed on my properties so now you gotta pay up or I'll hold you in my debt!" Katsuki threatened, smirking malignantly.
"Don't say that," Miyuki said from her bean bag futon, yawning, "you sound like a loan-shark."
"It's the rules of the game, and those rules dictate whoever lands on another player's property pays them the amount I decide," he stated proudly. "Pay me what you owe!"
"All our money's on the floor, though," Shoto pointed out. He picked up his piece, a dog, which was broken somehow. "I'll pay you later."
"So will I," Miyuki said, yawning again. "Besides, I didn't even have a single coin left to my name..." She pouted and Shoto comfortingly patted her shoulder. Katsuki's eye twitched in anger.
"In any case," Izuku spoke up, "we should prepare for tomorrow and get enough rest. Endeavour said it was going to be our toughest yet -"
"Screw that!" Katsuki yanked Shoto by his collar, mini-explosions shooting off from his hands. "Pay me now, you half-and-half loser!"
"Hey..." Miyuki mumbled tiredly.
"Kacchan, p-please calm down...!" Izuku squeaked, grabbing his childhood friend's arm. "Endeavour and the others are trying to rest right now, so we have to be considerate and -"
"Screw you, Deku!" He jabbed his elbow into his face repeatedly, trying to get him to let go of him. Clearly, it wasn't working as he continued asking him to quieten down so the others could sleep. "Shut up about that, dammit. I've got money to win or I'll double down on your debt!"
"How brazen of you," Miyuki said, sweatdropping. "You're taking this too seriously. Really, calm down."
"I could give you a safety deposit to ensure a safe transfer of funds from my holdings to yours," Shoto told him. "Only on what I owe, though. If I don't then I'll give it with interest."
"Todoroki-Kun, what're you saying that for...?" Izuku muttered.
"Don't encourage him," Miyuki sighed, but it was too late as Katsuki smirked.
