Royal Problem

Sonic sniffs as he was sitting in his seat with his travel bag and his stuffed toy on the bus, he was kind of zoning out his history teacher when they were talking about the structure of some of the buildings that had been built in the early sixteen hundreds. He wipes away his tears with his sleeves he only looks out the wind of the bus, he did have to admit for a city being built in the early sixteen hundreds it was rather beautiful.

He looks down at his wrists the scars were still there from him harming himself when he was younger, he hadn't cut himself since he went to therapy, or distracting himself with drawing, but right now his heart was arching from what he saw and heard from the royal family.

When the bus came to the stop at the hotel Sonic watched the other students started to line up to get off of the bus, grabbing his travel bag and stuffed toy he stood up, being the last one off of the bus, the hotel looked rather fancy, but from what his teacher was saying about the structure the hotel is probably old cause of the design he only looked away. "It is beautiful...but I don't know if I could continue with this trip..." he admits as he pinned his ears down he was about to the follow the students inside to get his room number that he was be sharing with.

"Sonic wait..." he looked up at the Teacher who had called him, when Jet had the key to the room. "This is your key" the women at the front desk said, as she give the hedgehog a fancy looking key. "What?"

"You have a private room, Mr. Hedgehog" Sonic took the key he saw a strange symbol on it, he only shrugged at least he would have peace to cry his eyes out with having someone call him weak for doing so.

"Now remember class, by tomorrow we all will be starting our first lesson at the museum, for now take you time to adjust and get some well deserved sleep after all the time zone is days off from our normal time zone" The teacher told the students.

The students didn't say a word as they took their luggages form the pile that their name on it, those who were couples were sharing a room, Sonic who didn't have anyone was paired up in a group of three since it was an odd number, he already knew that he was gonna be doing all the work for Jet and Wave since they were going to take this free trip to goof off.

Sonic struggles a little bit with his suitcase, "Here allow me?"

The hedgehog recognizes the voice, but at the moment he didn't want to confront it...not when they lied to him. But his heart and the tears that he was holding back, he kind of just wanted to hug them. His emerald eyes soon met a familiar pair of teal ones. "M-Mephiles?"

"I know you probably don't want to see me...after the little ceremony, but I want to talk you, in private about that" Mephiles said as he carries Sonic's suitcase to the elevator, Sonic only looks down but he agrees to do so...at least he had to hear one of them out, it just kind of felt illegal to being talking to royalty when your not of that middle class, or royalty yourself.

When they are were on the right floor to where the private room was on...Sonic unlocked the door to find that the room was kind of a mini sweet, and nothing like the small rooms that normal hotels would have. Mephiles closed the door.

"Why?"

"I wanted to make it up to you...for the lies" Mephiles told hold of his hand "You really mean a lot to me...and after that week I really couldn't stop thinking about you"

Sonic pinned his ears down, he only wrapped his arms around Mephiles and just started sobbing, the past weeks he hadn't really been himself...mostly because he couldn't get Shadow nor Mephiles out of his mind Hell it was effecting with his health since he wouldn't sleep, nor did he eat as much as he would, he'd just completely shut himself out to the world only going out to do his lectures.

"B-But why didn't you just tell me..." he whimpered out.

"When it comes to royalty...it's hard to tell if the person is being nice to you because you are a prince or all they want is power" Mephiles admits, "but Now that we are together...I'm not going let the those strict rules take you away"

Sonic didn't know how to feel about that, his heart didn't just beat for Mephiles but for Shadow as well but seeing that he was engaged, he could at least spend the month with Mephiles...he was much more open and charming compared to Shadow, he even went the extra mile to give him a sweet room, that he didn't have to share anyone. "But I..."

"I know your here for class...and I'm not gonna get in the way that" Mephiles admits he just parted his muzzle to give Sonic's hand a soft kiss. "I just want you to know you mean everything to me"

The blue hedgehog's whole life had been nothing but him watching his siblings get themselves mates that soon became his friends, he had always been the third wheel in the times that he would hang out with them, his stepdad ruining his chances of finding that someone cause of the horrible things he did to his body, when he was younger, and now it was as it the universe was giving him a chance of happiness that he never had.

Before he could ask anymore questions, he just presses his muzzle to the taller males parted muzzle for a tender kiss tears streaming down from his face, at least finally they had a month, a much longer time to spend together than a week. Mephiles only cuffs Sonic's cheeks wiping away his tears with his thumbs as he kissed him back. At least now he wasn't competing with his twin for Sonic's affection, now that this arranged marriage was going on.

Of course unknown to him, Shadow was watching him through his own emerald, anger and jealousy started to build up into the hedgehog as he saw the scene in front of him from his emerald...before a smiled formed on his muzzle he had tonight to actually explain to the blue hedgehog, as well as his true feelings.

"It maybe cheating...but I don't love that chipmunk like I do with Sonic" He thought to himself. There was a knock on his door and quickly puts the emerald away into his nightstand drawer. "Young Prince...Your In-Laws wish to see you as well as your fiancé"

Shadow only growled under his breath, Sally maybe wearing a ring, to prove the engagement, but he had yet to even accepted it, his parents may have but him. No. "I'll be right there" he said as he took a deep breath, he was gonna play along, if he wanted to get back at Mephiles, but he made up his idea tonight he'll confess. "But...I can understand if he's mad at me for this...but it still doesn't change what my heart wants"
