A/N: here's the new cover I made! Do you like it? I will prolly add words later. I can't decide if I like the old one better... 🤔
My vision went black and my body went limp.
I could hear voices...
Far away voices that were too muffled to make out. I fought to stay conscious, but I was losing the battle rapidly.
I felt my body become numb as I felt the pressure on my chest lift. The voices called my name... but I could no longer hear them.
All went black... and my consciousness faded.

Michael's POV
Me and Jeremy hurriedly turned the corner, my eyes were wide at the sight.
Y/N laid limp on the ground, blood seeping from her head, and her chest looked horribly deformed as of her rib cage had been bashed in.
"Oh my god, Y/N! Y/N?! Can you hear me?!" I rushed to her side, carefully lifting up her head.
Jeremy stood there looking like an idiot, just staring with wide eyes. "Jeremy call an ambulance godammit!" I ordered, and he immediately fumbled with his phone to call 911.
I leaned down to listen for a heartbeat and feel for a pulse.
Ba-dum.... Ba-dum....
"Thank God." I breathed, she's still alive.
But I wasn't sure for how long.
~~~8 minutes later
An ambulance arrived and they carried the woman off. I hope she will be alright.
They didn't allow us to ride with her, saying they would call us when she was ready to be visited...
I need to have a word with Jeremy.
I sucked in a painful breath as my eyes cracked open. I squinted at the bright light over head, groaning and trying to lift my hand, but to no avail. I finally could make out two faces above me.
"Operation successful." The figure said, presumably to the other person.
"Hello miss Y/N, how are you feeling?" My vision cleared and I saw that the figures were doctors, the one speaking was female. Was I in a hospital...?
I opened my mouth to try to speak, "Like....shit." I croaked out, fully honest.
She nodded to the other doctor, who was male, and left the room. He cleared his throat. "I apologize, you must be in a lot of pain. Getting your ribs crushed is far from a gentle experience." He spoke calmly, but my eyes widened and I wheezed out a cough.
"My...ribs? What...what happened?" I questioned in total confusion. The doctor shook his head, "I was hoping you'd know the answer, but I suppose you're suffering some memory loss from the concussion on your head." He turned away from me, doing something on a computer. "Don't worry, you should remember in a few days, just try to rest for now, you have alot of healing to do." He reassured.
I drifted off easily, hoping that when I woke up this would be a dream.
I inhaled a shaky breath, slowly opening my eyes.
It seems like there were only a few lights on in the room, the main lights overhead being turned off.
I lightly grasped the fabric of the bed beneath me, feeling the material as I realized that I could move my fingers and hand normally. I lifted up my arm, feeling a strange weakness that was foreign to me.
I turned my head, only to quickly stop when an aching pain radiated throughout my spine, traveling up my neck, I hissed, squeezing my eyes shut for a second.
I opened my eyes again, bringing my hand up to rub my neck carefully as I very slowly turned my head to the left, minimizing my pain as much as possible. As my eyes adjusted to the dim room, I saw on a table next to me there were flowers, neatly placed in a black, or dark colored vase.
Lovely Purple and yellow flowers, that looked like they might of been roses, neatly arranged in a beautiful bouquet, I saw a note hanging from it, yet when I tried to reach out for it I realized it was too far away. I sighed and carefully turned away from the vase, feeling a dull ache in my chest as I moved.
'I wonder who the flowers are from....' I thought as I began to try to get comfortable on the bed, before having a painful realization that every movement of my torso caused a piercingly unbearable pain. 'Maybe it was Mike...? He seems to wear purple fairly often...' I wondered, turning my head towards the window on my right. A smile twitched onto my face as I saw the full moon on a blanket of white pinprick stars against the dark blue background of the sky... it was a pretty sight.
I closed my eyes once more, hoping to wake up to a better day.
You won't leave us will you~?
"Y/N? Wake up!"
I groaned at the sound of a male voice, muttering an angry "No, fuck off."
"Uh, excuse me? Open your eyes." The vaguely familiar male voice said.
I slowly opened my eyes to a face, "Go to hell I wanna slee- OH— hey Jeremy-?!" I recognized the male face when my eyes focused on the bright room. Jeremy laughed, rolling his eyes, "Hi, you sound like you didn't sleep well." He settled his eyes on me, observing my limp form in the hospital bed. "Well... I feel like shit every time I wake up..." I sighed painfully.
Jeremy hummed, meeting my eyes, "Well, neither me or Mike know what the hell happened to you... but the doctor said you have five rib fractures and a fractured sternum... it's as if you were crushed..." He paused, eyes softening with sympathy, "I'm sorry we weren't there earlier....but I really hope you get better soon, Y/N." He offered a small smile, patting me on the shoulder as if to comfort me.
I knitted my eyebrows together, a slight headache forming. 'That much damage...? And no one knows what happened to me?' I thought in disbelief.
The only thing I could remember at the moment was that the injury occurred at my workplace somehow... I know that it wasn't a coincidence though....
I took in a breath, "Jeremy." He lifted his eyes from the ground to meet mine, raising an eyebrow.
"I quit."
