~~~~The room fell silent for a moment as Charlie didn't look at me.
A cold breath left her dead lips as she turned towards me. "The vengeful spirit." She said simply.
I stared, expecting her to continue, yet the pause was long between her words. "Cassidy was the most brutal of his murders. She is the one that he shouldn't have killed." Charolette said, lowering her voice. I didn't push the topic, and Charlie didn't continue. I had felt the aggressiveness in the air around Cassidy, and my mind told me that she was nothing short of dangerous in one way or another.
I looked away for awhile, wanting to wait out the time until I went home. The little ghost girl was gone before I could look back.
I sighed, flipping through the cameras boredly, I caught a glimpse of a still figure in a room.
Springtrap.
A chill ran down my spine as the violent memories threatened to creep into my mind. I can't even go "oh he's not that bad." No, he literally is that bad.
His figure stared at the floor, standing quite still, aside from the smallest trace of him swaying back and forth. If he was a normal animatronic I'd find that to be weird, but since he was....alive...? No... dead? Well, a corpse possessing a suit or something, I wasn't sure what to think of it.
The clock rang it's tune that marked the end of the work night.
I had suddenly noticed the wave of relief and exhaustion that seemed to wash over me as I went to the exit, my nose also catching a faint rotting smell again. I think I'll investigate that another time...
I left for home in my slightly unreliable car as the morning sun began to peek over the horizon of the distant terrain.
~~~~some time later...
"So have you packed up everything to move into your new place yet?" Michael asked from my living room couch as I approached a stack of boxes. "Well, Yeah, most of the stuff anyway." I scanned the room that was almost barren compared to how it was before. "Alright then. I brought my truck to help move the stuff, whenever you're ready." He yawned.
"Yeah, let's just get this done." I sighed.
~~
It took a little over two hours to move everything to the new house and make it comfortable. Michael helped with the heavier lifting.
"It will take some getting used to, but this place is nice. Finally I won't be cramped up in an apartment." I snorted, looking around my new house.
Mike smiled, nodding tiredly.
I turned to him, slightly concerned at his visible exhaustion. "Hey, you alright? Thanks for the help, you should go home and get some rest..." I hesitated a moment. "Or if you want you can stay here, I don't mind." I tried to offer a comforting smile to him, he nodded, running a hand through his brunette hair.
"I guess I'll take you up on that offer... just for tonight. I'll sleep on the couch if that's cool with you." He sighed, showing a small smile of relief. "Yeah that's fine, go ahead and get comfortable." I waved a hand of dismissal, retiring to my new room.
At first I laid down, staring at the ceiling. I tossed and turned for awhile, the unfamiliar place had me feeling odd, as I usually do when I'm not used to sleeping somewhere. Eventually I dozed off, encased in odd dreams of 8-bit arcade games and rabbits.
~~~
An alarm blared in my ear, waking me to my realization of a job.
Time to go to work.
For once in a long time I awoke well rested, passing by a sleeping Michael as I grabbed my bag and left.
It didn't take long to get to work, in fact I found my new home to be closer to Fazbear Frights than my apartment was. I wasn't sure how to feel about that.
Stepping in and clocking in, I yawned upon arrival into my office. I checked all of the cameras including the vents, seeing nothing amiss, other than the Yellow Bunny man huddled in a corner, looking oddly sad? Of course I have to go check what's going on with him. Why do I care? I... don't. :)
But any odd behavior from him could end up with another death.
I went to the arcade room, where the camera showed Springtrap. There he was in the ground, in a different position. He sat leaned against the wall with his head leaning back and his jaw slightly agape. His eyes were half-lidded and almost glazed over looking, their usual yellowish glow seemed dim. What's going on here..? I felt an odd sense of concern settle in my chest.
"Hey buddy ol pal... you dead? I mean, no shit but like..." I trailed off, seeing his eyes flick to my figure immediately made my heart jump to my throat. I couldn't help but place a hand to my chest to ease my heart. "Jesus... why are you sitting like that..." I questioned. His jaw closed and he blinked, beginning to stand up.
"You woke me up." He grumbled.
I blinked in confusion, "I woke you- I w- wait you can sleep? How the hell...?" I shook my head, the answers being completely beyond me, and apparently him too.
"I don't know? I just.. sleep. And thanks to you I won't be getting sleep now." He huffed with a hint of grumpiness .
"My bad." I shrugged, awkwardly leaving the room with my hands in my pockets.
I went to the room with the rotting smell, looking up at the vents again. I don't get paid to investigate this shit....
And yet here I am...
The smell made me want to vomit, but the sagging appearance in the vents were even more unsettling. "How much you wanna bet there's a giant dead rat king in the vents..." I said to the empty halls, a heavy sensation forming in my stomach at how dumb the words sounded.
I looked at the vent, standing in my tippy toes and trying to poke it with the butt of my flashlight, which did nothing. Well... that's what I thought at first.
I heard a creaking metal noise and my eyes widened as the vent creaked more, bending downwards.
My eyes began to water as a single red droplet dripped from a crack in the vents.
"That's not...a rat king...." My voice quivered as sickness rose up my throat. I backed up from the vent, and then...
Everything came crashing down at once.
Metal clangs and a wet plop sound, my body wanted to disintegrate at the gruesome sight.
With my last fighting gasp of air against the horrible stench before I vomited, I yelled out for a name in total panic with a hint of anger at the probable suspect.
"SPRINGTRAP??!!!????"
