"Studying before our first shift?" Nolan spoke with a playful tone as he leaned his body on the doorway to his roommates room.
Nolan got to live rent free in his best friend's guest house and Olivia needed a roommate after graduating the academy which Nolan was grateful to help out.
"Really?" Nolan raised a brow looking down at the younger girl who was sit with her legs crossed and focused on the book of a hundred regulations.
Olivia smirked as her eyes looked up to the older man who she would consider one of her best friends.
Olivia wasn't one for making close relationships with people but when she met Nolan, Chen, and West at the academy they grew on her and now she hopes they can be friends forever.
She loved them and was glad that she had them in her life.
When they all got assigned to the same station Olivia couldn't of been more thrilled and thankful.
Part of her believes it's because of her mother, Zoe Anderson.
The captain.
But Olivia hasn't really talked to her mother since graduating high school and then dropping out of college.
So maybe it's a sign of forgiveness.
Maybe.
"If I want to act like the best, I have to be the best." Olivia informed him smugly.
Nolan rolled his eyes as he laughed and motioned the girl that they needed to go if they wanted to be early like Olivia told him the night prior.
"Oh, and good luck with being the best." Nolan pointed out as the two walked side by side out the front door.
"And why is that?" Olivia nudged the man.
"You have to beat West and his top academy scores." Nolan reminded the girl who the number one cadet in the academy was and how she was the second ranked cadet of their class.
Olivia scoffed playfully. "The academy isn't want matters." Olivia open her car door and gave Nolan one last look as he opened his own door.
"I'll see you there." Olivia saluted and hopped in her car wanting to be one of the first rookies at the station.

Olivia walked into the station and stood still. She was taking in everything that her eyes laid on and couldn't believe that she was really here.
Growing up she heard all the stories her mother told her and how she was gone a lot of the times meaning that she had no one to cheer for her on game days.
Being a police officer takes up most of your life leaving you time to eat, drink, and sleep before having to wake up the next day and do it all over again.
She's seen it first hand, but she's determined to be different.
Getting lost in her thoughts Olivia didn't see the person walking past her and ran straight into the larger body causing her to slightly lose her balance, but a large warm hand clasped onto her exposed bicep to hold her in place.
Olivia coughed and blew her long auburn brown hair hair out of her face. "I'm sorry I wasn't watching where I was going."
The man let go off the brunettes arm.
The man was in his civilian's so Olivia was thinking he was a detective or just hasn't gotten dressed in his uniform yet.
The man who was five inches taller than her looked down at the brunette girl.
"Obviously."
Olivia was taken back by the man's tone not expecting the first person she met to be a jerk. "Well it wasn't fully my fault." Olivia pointed out not liking how he was treating her.
The man eyed her. "You think I ran into you?"
Olivia nodded her head and stood taller. "That's what I said."
"Listen here-" The unknown man was cut off when a familiar voice spoke up behind both of them.
"Officer Bradford, I see you met one of the rookies."
Bradford rolled his eyes. Of course it was one of the new rookies that ran into him.
Both officer Bradford and Olivia turned to look at who spoke.
Bradford placed his hands behind his back and nodded his head. "Yes ma'am she just happened to run right into me." Bradford bit his tongue, trying not to be rude to a rookie in front of the captain.
"I see." The captain glanced at Olivia who was avoiding all eye contact by looking at her feet.
"I'll see you both around." Captain Anderson smiled and walked away and up towards her office.
"When captain Anderson is talking to you show some respect to your higher." Bradford was now looking at the rookie with a stern look.
He noticed how the rookie didn't even greet her or even acknowledge her presence.
"Got it boot?" Bradford pushed waiting for an answer.
Olivia tried to hold back her grin, but it was slowly showing which made the man raise a brow at her reaction.
"Yes sir." Olivia nodded her head and watched as Bradford stared at the brunette for a minute before leaving.
Olivia scoffed wondering what was up his ass. Hopefully the other officers are more welcoming, especially her training officer.
