In the rocky cliffs of Jade Mountain, a dragon watched the dawn sky. Today was any ordinary day, but she was glad to be at the academy, finally accepted at last. The shadow of her former queen were gone, she was no longer banished from her kingdom, and she was with her new friends.

Smoke rose in the air from her spot, the basking warmth from her scales could be felt from inside the caves. But this didn't bother the visitor, as he emerged from the cave tunnel to the ledge where the burning SkyWing sat. Peril turned her head, her blue gaze resting on a familiar face. "Hey, Turtle," she greeted. The SeaWing sat down next to her, greeting her back. He watched the sky for a moment, then turned his head to Peril. "Wanna come down to the underground river with me and the others?" He asked.

Peril thought for a moment, then dipped her head in agreement. "Yeah, sure. I mean, I won't enjoy swimming, but I'll go anyway."

Turtle grinned at her, then jumped to his feet in an energetic way that Peril though didn't suit the puddle-like SeaWing. She scrunched her snout in amusement, heading after him as he bounded away through the caves.

In the forested hills of the Sky Kingdom, a dragon and a human lay in the soft grass, examining and pointing out clouds in the sky. A river flowed nearby, the same exact river the pale SkyWing was believed to be dead in, all those years back when he was a dragonet. He didn't mind the river and the memories it brought back, although he still wondered who his mother was and where she was. And if he wasn't mistaken, didn't he have a sister, too? He wondered about her as well.

Sky pointed up to an oddly shaped cloud, excitedly telling his human companion that it looked like a snail, but Wren just laughed and said, "you think everything looks like a snail! You're obsessed with them!" and shoved his talon playfully. Sky protested at that, although he thought himself that she was right. They sat in the grass for a while longer, then Wren jumped up and exclaimed, "Sky, we have somewhere to visit today!"

The pale SkyWing jumped to his feet, realization kicking in. "Oops. Wasn't it the academy over there?" He asked, pointing his tail towards the mountain range of Jade Mountain. "Yep," Wren confirmed, brushing the dirt from off her clothing. "C'mon, lets get going, we've got some dragons to teach!" She glanced towards Sky's back, and the dragon crouched and splayed out his wings, letting the human get a grip on his neck spikes. Once she was settled, Sky flared his wings and headed for the open sky above.

A spray of water splashed across Peril's face, and a hissing sound emitted from her scales, thick smoke rising. Peril gave Kinkajou a stern look, but broke off in laughter at the RainWing's pouty eyes. The entire winglet was playing around in the river, except for Peril and her uneasiness towards water. Moon suddenly emerged from beneath the water, accidentally knocking Turtle over. He flailed his limbs around, creating violent splashes, before he finally found his balance. Peril barked laughter at him. "Can't you swim?" She teasingly called out to him, and he stuck out his tongue at her.

"WHERE'S OUR WINGLETTTT," groaned a familiar voice from beyond the entrance to the river cave, and the group stopped for a moment, their heads turned to the voice. A head popped out from the wall, then the dragon it belonged to came skipping down the tunnel to meet them. "QIBLI!!!" Moon and Turtle exclaimed cheerfully, running up to the visiting SandWing and hugging him. Kinkajou, in all her colourful glory, threw herself at the hug. Another familiar voice called out a "Qibli? Where'd you go?" and then came Winter from the tunnel, and the attention was turned to him. They hugged him as well, then they gathered themselves off of the startled IceWing. "Why're you two here? I mean, it's awesome, but why?" Kinkajou asked.

"Well, I felt like a visit, and Winter had heard that Sky and Wren were stopping by Jade Mountain to teach the students about scaven- humans. So we decided to get together and visit," Qibli explained, his wing around Winter.

"Who?" Peril asked.

"Oh, Sky is a SkyWing who we met during the whole Pantala incident, and Wren is his human friend. Remember we told you about how scavengers are actually called humans, and they can learn our language? Yeah, it's because of them," Turtle explained.

"Huh," Peril said.

"Well," Winter began, standing up from where he'd been sitting next to Qibli. "I'd like to meet up with Sky and Wren, so.. want to come with me? You guys probably should go anyway, since its for the students."

And so they headed off with Winter, walking up the tunnels to a big classroom where quite a few winglets and teachers were already situated. The Jade Winglet took their seat, along with Qibli and Winter. Peril sat off to the corner, by her winglet, but far away enough to not set anything on fire. A pale SkyWing and a human were up by the front of the classroom, getting ready to start their lesson soon.

Sky scanned the full classroom. Dragons of the seven Pyrrhia tribes were everywhere. The last ones to arrive were a group, and Sky recognized Winter, the dragon who adored humans. Sky and Wren had occasionally talked with him, giving him education on the subject of humans.

He also noticed a SkyWing who sat apart from all the dragons, who looked as if she was on fire. She caught him staring and met his gaze. Her eyes were blue, just like his. Hers were just more vibrant. A weird feeling told him that she was important, whoever she was.

She has too much fire, Sky realized.

In a dizzy realization, he knew this burning dragon was his sister.

After the class, Sky and Wren were outside, talking to Winter. Sky was half listening when he felt basking warmth from behind him, and he turned around to see the burning SkyWing from earlier.

"Hey, Peril," Winter greeted her. She greeted him back. She turned her attention to Sky. "You feel familiar," she said abruptly.

Sky blinked. "So do you."

They stared at each other for a silent moment. Wren and Winter watched in quiet curiosity. "Do you have any fire?" Asked Peril. Sky shook his head. "No. You're the one who does."

A beat of silence. Then, "You had a twin, correct?"

Sky nodded.

"The queen ordered us dead. Then Mother attempted to kill you, free with you twin, only to drop her when she burned her."

Sky nodded.

Peril smiled, tears brimming in her eyes, then as they streamed down her cheek, they sizzled and smoke rose. "I wish I could hug you," she said, her voice choked with emotion.

Sky felt himself crying as well, a smile appearing on his face. "I wish you could, too. I..I had no idea you were alive."

"I didn't think you were alive, either," Peril said. "Kestrel did a good job making it believed you were dead."

"Kestrel?" Sky asked. Peril sighed. "Our mother. Her name was Kestrel," she said. Sky's eyes widened slightly. "Was?" He asked.

Peril dipped her head. "She died. After me and her had met, she was murdered."

Sky was confused yet again. "After you met? Did you not live with her?" He questioned. Peril looked uncomfortable. "Well, since she dropped me, she had no choice but to flee. The queen took me and raised me. It.. it's a long story," she said. "I'll have to tell you the rest later. But.. there's no guarantee you'll like me after I tell you."

Sky blinked, concerned of what that meant. "Well, I think I'll like you anyway," he said, flashing his new-found sister a smile, and she returned his smile with a toothy grin.
