Chapter 8

We made our way to inside the school camp, the guards were very wary of me and Micha but allowed us in because of Phil and his persuasion, I owe him one. We where given a tour of the school and when we reached what Phil called "the bunks" we where asked questions by Phil's room mates and told to rest after our long journey. At the very end of the tour I  grabbed Micha's hand that held sky and her tote bag, and he had flinched.

"What's wrong" I asked

"Oh, it's nothing your just really cold,".

We had to finish our conversation early because we had been approaching a office, inside, Phil had said that their organization was ran by Vith, and this is her office. When we where inside we where greeted by two guards and of course Vith, Vith looked badass and had a tan completion, a beauty mark and deep brown eyes that compliment her black hair. She wore black jeans and a beet red crop top with a black leather jacket on her office chair, I aspire to be this lady.

She stared at me for a second, seemingly studying me,  before turning to my brother and Phil, who both had the same "in aw" face as me. She spoke quickly and clearly and had a velvet voice, after some questions that she asked us, she would smile and she has a very prominent gap between her top teeth and bottom teeth in the left side of her jaw. It came to the question of "why did Phillipe bring you here?".

"I may have thought he was a brute and had hit him over the head,". I had to state nervously.

"We did help him though, and he's better now,". Micha butted in.

  Vith had held back laghter for a minute before asking why Phil was "creeping" on us.

"They had thought our store house was them getting really lucky," Phil had practically spat at me.

  "I see, well we'll have to make up the lost water and food," Vith had a very scrunched thinking face and told us to leave her with her thoughts.

It was around dinner and all people were called to the canteen for our meal, it smelled like hevan on Earth. Phil had continued to show us the difference of the halls on our way down these stairs to the actual lunch room. Our dinner was spaghetti that Phil had said we would eat for the next two days. The lunch room is packed with people sitting at tables and on the floor eating.

  After dinner Phil had said we could bunk in his room with his "mate's", he has a weird accent. When the door opened we had been showed where we would sleep and then we had been con-ed by Phil into playing a game of war with four decks of cards and three other people.

  At the time of about 9:30 the speakers had told lights out and seemed to shut off the generator.

  The next day when me and Micha had been shaken to wake up, we had been given new clothes and shower time. After we got a shower we get to eat breakfast of a hot pocket and orange juice. Micha and Phil had gone to a schooling room, I thought that a schooling room was genius, and I was given my chores by Vith to sweep the halls by the lunch room, deliver the guards lunch and sort the bath towels.

  We had been here for almost a day and Vith wanted to talk to me alone and asked for me over the intercoms, "You can come in" She said when i reached the door.

  "Why did you want to talk to me,".

  "Because, darling, I had stocked that house for a year now, and you need to make up the supplies,"

  "I planned on it, though I have to say, you don't need me alone to talk about my mistakes,".

  "How smart are you? You can see right through me, I brought you here because I noticed your nails,".

  "Why would my nails be useful to you?,".

  "Because, once a person becomes infected, their nails turn black, and if you lift your hand," I lifted my hand from my side and showed myself and Vith my nails "the base of your nails are turning,".

  "Did you call Me here to kill me or to inform me?" I stated.

  "I want to help you, I know how to hide the infection from others,"

  "How? What happens when one is infected?".

  "Well since I told you such shit, I can say that first one will be dizzy and nauseated when being attached to, then the nails will grow black and temperatures will drop until you either die or go crazy,".

  "W-will that happen to me, if so kill me and take care of Micha," I said quickly, fear was evident on my face.

  "Oh no dear, no, It will not, when was the last time you faced a brute,".

  "About a week or two,".

  " most go crazy within two days, you'll be fine, if you make a connection with a brute, it will be beneficial and it will basically make you super human,".

  "How do I make a connection, even after that, what will happen?,".

  "You will figure it out, it's different to each brute,".

  "But how will you hide my nails?"

  "Easy, gloves or nail polish, which one do you like the sound of more,"

  "Nail polish, even though it would be weird in an apocalypse,".

  "Alright," Vith had called me over and gave me a nude, skin color nail polish that i noticed she was wearing herself.
