Chapter 5: Follower of the Devil God

Hui Ying

I started to get really uncomfortable. ...oh yeah I totally forgot. Today is New Year. 

Should I go to Zixuan, or Li Jie?

I decided to go to Zixuan.

There is one thing that really bothers me. I heard their conversation about me...and her...

Is he up to something that I really don't know about? 

Or does he like me...or not. I don't really know. I feel kinda ...weird when I am around him. Is that so called love?

Suddenly a man came in my room. It looked like a monk.

"Hello sir, may I ask what you're doing here?" I asked.

"Oh hello. I am a old monk. But you here, my lady you are indeed something legendary." He said. Legendary? He might be joking. I'm not any sort of pokemon card....

"Sir, I don't understand.."

"You must need to promise me, Hui Ying to not tell anybody this." 

"Alright." I am a woman of my words. I've never broke my promises.

"You are indeed a Goddess, of 10,000 years earlier. But you are also unlucky, because the Devil God chose you for the next follower of him."

The Devil God? Am I the next follower of the Devil God? This can't be..there must be a mistake. I have a pure body and soul, I can't be just the follower of the Devil God.

"Sir, why me? Maybe you're mistaken." 

"I am not Hui Ying, I am also kinda scared now since you are the chosen one..but we could fix this."

"Well how? As long as the Devil God is sure that I am the chosen one, he can't change it."

"You need to seperate his dark energy with yours."

"But how?"

"As long as demons or devils won't attack you, you are safe. But...you have to be carefull, otherwise-" Zixuan came in.

"Otherwise the Devil God will wake up, is that what you were tryna to say?" Zixuan finished the old monk's sentence.

"Zixuan, did you already know?" The monk said.

"I am the son of the Ancestral God, so I am really gifted. I already knew it a long time ago, but Li Jie won't believe me."

"Well it's better that Li Jie doesn't know." I said.

"I shall take my leave." And the monk left.

"I know what you are thinking. I could feel you. But no worries, Li Jie would like you."

"It's not that. I just..don't want to be the Devil God's follower. How would people think about me then?" I looked sadly at the ground.

And he rubbed my back. "Don't be sad Hui Ying, if Li Jie doesn't believe in you, I would."

"Zixuan..."

"Let's not talk about sad things know, let's celebrate New Year."

"Mhm!" We walked together on the street and bought many things. Zixuan bought everything for me. He's really a sweet person with a kind soul.

I was back at Heavenly Realm. I saw Li Jie upset on the roof. I decided to go to him. He was drinking liquor.

"Li Jie, don't drink too much. That's bad for your health." I must say that. He can't die, unless there's another God of War.

"You always interfere with my business. What is wrong with you Hui Ying? I am not a baby, I know what I am doing."

"Are you drunk?"

He throwed the bottle away and looked dreamy at me. "I  love  you."

Those words. Those three words. I don't know why, I am suddenly feeling...really happy. That's weird. I never experienced this kind of feeling. I couldn't describe it. I guess he's just drunk.

"Li Jie, you are drunk. Stop saying such nonesense."

"Hui Ying, immortals can't get drunk." What a bad lie.

"Shut up. You're really bad at lying."

Then he came towards and kissed me.
