Chapter 2: wise words

Li Jie

That girl is really special. I could see a pure body in her. Could she revive her? I only have to gain her trust now. 

I really miss her. If I could..but that is not okay. If I use her primordial sprit, would Hui Ying die? I could not just kill anybody. Besides, Hui Ying is just an immortal. I should go to the old monk.

I got to his house.

"Li Jie, I..do think that you are seeking for..a answer." The monk said slowly.

"You are right sir. Is there any option to revive her?"

"Some things are better left undone, I don't think that that is necessary." He said.

"But-"

"I understand your love for her, but you better leave it like this. If you are not prepared, it would definitely come. Patient is the key, Li Jie."

Patient. I could not wait for her another 1000 years.

"Thank you sir, I'll take my leave."

And I left.

-The next day-

I decided to pay Hui Ying a visit. I must have her body to get her back. Must.

I knocked on her door. "Morning Hui Ying."

"Good morning Li Jie." She said, with a smile. I still regret that I am doing this.

"Do you wanna talk and eat at the same time?" I said.

"Yeah sure, I made fresh Jasmine tea. Have a try." I sat down. She smelled nice. Almost like the sweetest perfume in the three realms.

I decided to go further.

"Have you...ever loved anybody?" I know she would think I like her.

"No, never experienced this kind of things. I am not really interested. I do am interested in martial arts. How about you?"

Oh shoooooot. She didn't thought I would like her. That's better. She's not a pick me.

"I..do you mind if I share a story with you?" 

"Yeah ofcourse, I am free."

"Many years ago, I met a girl. She was really nice. She was also interested in martial arts. She wanted to defeat the Devil God. Then the cold war begun with the immortals and the demons. I told her not to go to the battlefield. I was careless when I saw her. The demons wanted to attack her, so I wanted to protect her. But in the end, she stood before me and got stabbed."

"I feel sorry for you. I don't know why, but I could feel your feelings."

"It's normal though, to lose people."

"What are you planning to do know?" She asked. What a tricky question. Does she already know? Or could she read my mind?

"Well...I thought on planning to revive her."

"What?! Revive her? That is against the will of Heaven! And you as the God of War, could be punished heavily, more painfull than death!" 

"Why do you care Hui Ying, as long as she is happy." She looked deep in my eyes. As if she was her.

"What if she wasn't happy at all being revived by you? What if she wants to rest in peace in Heaven?" She said.

"WHY DO YOU CARE!?" I was getting angry and grabbed her by her neck. "Hui Ying."

She could'nt breath and I felt that. I don't know what I am doing right know. Did I just got obsessive with her? I do love her the most in my heart. I kept grabbing her by her neck. Until she fainted. What am I doing, Li Jie?

"Hui Ying! Hui Ying, wake up!" I checked her pulse. She was luckily alive. I was shocked. Otherwise I could'nt revive her. Her, why am I saying her?

I am going the wrong way. No. I won't betray the Heavens. I am Li Jie, the God of War. I do not kill innocent people or Godesses. What am I thinking? I almost killed Hui Ying, my savior.

I quickly got to the medicine room. I grabbed everything out of the closets, and rushed back to Hui Ying.

After 3 hours she finally woke up.

"Hui Ying, I-" she looked me in the eyes and stood up. Then she tried to leave, but I held her hand.

"Hui Ying, I know you are angry at me, but I lost control, okay?" What a dumb excuse. How is she going to believe me? I just made a friend..

"Lost control? I know what you are thinking Li Jie, although you are the God of War, you can't do something like this. You are obsessed. Obsessed with a girl. You could also get punishment if this continues!"

"Why do you care though?" I am just curious. Does she like me? Or does she don't want to let me have trouble?

"I care for you as the God of War. As the God of War, your task is to kill the Devil God. But you are indeed gifted and lucky. He didn't appear. But Li Jie, you must promise me to kill the Devil God."

"Haha, if you'd talked like this in front of my dad, you would be banned from Heavenly Realm." I was just joking. Only she can talk to me like this. I do respect her that she cares for me as the God of War. It is the truth that she is speaking. I need to protect people and kill the Devil God.

That is my duty.
