Peaceful Forever [Book 1]

Author's Note

This is my first long story so please bare with me through this adventure. I'm currently planning on making this a four-part series, but the number of books may increase or decrease depending on how much I write. Currently, I have finished the first book and I'm working on the second. I'm going to publish a chapter or two at a time to allow you all to give feedback so I can go in and adjust anything I need. I've also decided that I will be leaving comments throughout my own work with little footnotes and or my thoughts on certain sections to help give you all some context.

Please understand that this book is DARK. There will be a lot of very intense themes and topics covered throughout. I've honestly been using it kind of as a way to heal from some things in my own life, so if you are not in the right headspace for certain topics, I am completely fine if you decide to sit this one out. This book is rated 18+ and is for mature audiences only.

I will provide individual trigger warnings for each chapter, but here is a list of some of the major triggering topics that this book and future ones will touch on:

Gore/murder/torture (it's the Hunger Games); Non-consensual sexual acts; Prostitution; Heavy mental health topics including PTSD, self harm, EDs, alcoholism, dissociative episodes, and probably more; Inpatient/rehab/hospitals; Death and sadness; Pregnancy/abortion/miscarriage

Also the trigger warnings will be in a comment on the first line of each chapter. I understand not everyone wants them as they can sometimes spoil the contents of the chapter so I've made it so you don't immediately see them but they're still accessible.

Now for the good parts. This series will be a Finnick Odair love story with my original character Amily Tides. However, their romance will be a slow building one, and we most likely will not get into any sort of romantic stuff until the second book. I do write smut and intend on giving y'all some good smut!

The first book in the series covers the timeline from the 70th Hunger Games up until just before Amily's victory tour, so about 6 months. I do intend to write her story through the end of Mockingjay part two and maybe a little past that. I've been very conflicted on whether or not I want the series to have a happy or sad ending so I'm debating writing two different versions of the last book in order to give y'all the choice whether or not you want the happy or sad ending. The initial ending I had planned is very sad but I understand that not everyone wants to read stories where there is a sad hunger games ending, so I plan on writing a happy alternative.

I don't have a set length for any of my chapters. Some will be really long, and others may be on the shorter end. I've currently written around 30,000 words between the first book and part of the second so I expect that this series will be a long read.

I've decided to play around with perspectives and highlight different characters' point of views throughout the book. Amily's POV will also jump between 1st and 2nd perspective to highlight her constant dissociative episodes.

I currently have a 13 page document where I've planned out a lot and give a bit more depth to some of the characters I write for, so I plan on posting those over on Tumblr. My tumblr is @avoxrising

Please note that I do not own any of the original series characters as those belong to the lovely Suzanne Collins. I've taking the liberty of giving depth to some of her characters, but I have done my best to keep it as canon as possible. The story will be pretty canon compliant overall, but obviously I want to make it my own story and not directly copy the plot line of the original series.
