I leapt into the crystal blue water and felt a chill bolt down my spine. "Man, that's cold!"
"Yeah, but refreshing too!" He said, backstroking in the waters. "So, has anything interesting happened other than waiting for the day that the Pokémon Conpany will allow you to use the TM Amnesia?"
"No, not really," I said, "but the food in that cafeteria isn't too bad. People are saying that they're gonna make new dishes, but I'm not so sure. Can never trust them."
"Cool, cool. Seems like my life is always going to be more eventful than yours. Well, instead of some human curry and meat in between slabs of bread, how about you enjoy what nature has to offer you? A Pecha berry? Or would you prefer an Oran berry?"
I clambered out of the pond and shook my body to get rid of all of the water that had stuck to my fur and walked over to where the tree was. Two Oran berries and a Pecha berry glowed temptingly in the mass of green.
"Yum, oh wait, there's no point saying 'yum' because I can't even reach them!"
The fact that my body was too short and my legs were too stubby only reminded me of all of the troubles that Pokémon go through. The fear of every single day being your last out in the wild, all because of those Pokémon trainers, Pokémon hunters, Pokémon poachers : all sorts of creatures were always on the hunt to capture one of us marvellous and perplexing creatures, then expect for us to follow them out of the wild to places you've never seen before.
Or even worse. Battle time and time again, forcing you to become stronger through the pain, obliging you to evolve and you're even expected to listen wilfully and be friends. After all of that.
Or the worst of them all. Become a currency. A way for greedy people to make money and become rich. You become an item on the market. A worthless being now stripped of rights.
A rustle snapped me out of my daydream. In front of me was a human. A human with blonde and brown hair with teal eyes. A human who was holding out the Oran berry that I couldn't reach. He turned his head to behind him and spoke.
"Oi Nemona! I just found the same Pokemon again! Come and look!"
Another human came along side him. This time, it was a girl with black hair in a tight ponytail, other than two green strands of hair that were out of place. Her eyes glowed a passionate amber.
"Oooh! Never seen that Pokemon before!" She brought out some red thing from her pocket and held it in my direction. It spoke with a robotic voice.
"Zorua. Hisuian form. A Normal and Ghost Type. A once-departed soul, returned to life in Hisui. Derives power from resentment, which rises as energy atop its head and takes on the form of foes. In this way, Zorua vents lingering malice."
I was frozen to the spot - I couldn't move. Fear had taken control of my limbs and it was impossible to disobey. I felt tears well up in my eyes as I tried to run away from these people. I opened my mouth to growl or cry but nothing came out. That's how I felt when I was taken into the infamous jail in Kalos.
I tried to move, but I couldn't. I tried to scream, but all that came out was air. I internally screamed as me and my Hisuian Zorua were thrown into our cages. I saw the keys click, and it was only them when cried.
The guard stamped his foot on the ground and I immediately blinked back the salty water that was pooling in my eyes. "You shut up, animal! You took it upon yourself to destroy the ITP HQ so you pay the price -7 years in jail for you. And if you escape, you'll regret that you ever thought of the idea to be a Pokémon."
And with that, the guard lumbered off with the keys in his sweaty palm. I turned to look at my friend on the other side of the glass. "I swear, we will get out of here, even if it means I die."
