*One Year Later...*

Jennifer's POV

Today is May 10, 2017. I turned 20 in January, and this past year has been a blessing in disguise. I got my dream job to work in Washington, D.C. AND.... I was asked by Lin-Manuel Miranda himself, to become Director for his work, Hamilton: The Musical. Two of my ultimate DREAM jobs within ONE YEAR?! That's incredibly insane. I started my travels to New York City in June of last year, and it's honestly been so fun. This year in June marks 1 full year of traveling to NYC, and it's been such a blessing. Ohh, and that guy Mark, that I met last year in D.C. at the museum? Don't worry, we've been chatting almost every single day, non-stop. This past year while talking to Mark, I've discovered that him & I have a lot in common when it comes to musical interests. We both love David Bowie, one of our favorite bands is The Beatles, George Michael is a huge favorite of ours, and so many others. We've been talking about hanging out for a while, but our schedules just aren't meeting up. I've been really busy with my job in D.C., as well as traveling to New York City two times during the week to prepare for directing Hamilton. I've told Mark that I travel to NYC two times a week, but I never directly told him what I was traveling there for. And turns out, we're both originally from New York! What a total coincidence. He's from Buffalo, and I'm from New York City. That's about 6 1/2 hours between the 2 cities. And through the past year of Mark and I chatting, I have a strange feeling that he's going to ask me out, but it's a good feeling.

I'm going to be on vacation from my job in D.C. for the next 2 weeks, so I'll have some time to relax, and also have time to focus on directing. It's been a lovely Tuesday afternoon, and I've just been enjoying my time outside on my deck. All of a sudden, I hear my phone going off. I look over to see a call from, Mark? I went ahead and answered the call. "Hey Jennifer, it's Mark. Just thought I'd give you a quick call. Am I bothering you at all?" He answered. "Ohh no, you're totally fine. I'm just relaxing outside on my deck." I replied. "Sounds good. Well, I wanted to give you a call because, I had a question to ask you." Mark said. "Sure, what is that?" I responded. "Well, I'm off from work today, so I was wondering if you wanted to..... hang out tonight? Maybe have dinner together or something?" Mark asked. Not gonna lie, I had a weird feeling he would ask that, but it was a good feeling. "I don't see why not. I'm on vacation from my D.C. job for the next 2 weeks, so I'll have more free time." I smiled. "Ohh gosh, that's so great. Is there anything specific you'd like to do?" Mark asked. "Ohh no, I'm not too picky. You can choose." I replied to Mark. "Alright, sounds good! Once I figure everything out, I'll shoot you a text. Does 6:30 pm sound good?" He asked. "Sounds good to me, I'll see you tonight!" I replied. "Sounds fantastic, see you tonight." He replied as we hung up the call.

The time is now 5:00 pm, and it was time to get ready for tonight's "dinner date" with Mark. I had no idea what to wear, since this is my first outing since moving here to D.C., and I've never really been to any nice restaurants here yet. I browsed through my closet to see if I had anything decent to wear. I decided to go with my black jeans, black top with long sleeves, and paired it with some earrings, a white purse, and my white heeled boots. (A.N. - I'll have a picture of where Jennifer got her outfit inspiration from above). Once I got my outfit on, I went ahead & did a very light makeup look. I just did my hair in a low ponytail, nothing too fancy. Around 5:30 pm, I was all finished & ready to go. Seconds later, I received a text from Mark giving all the details for tonight's dinner. He scheduled a dinner at minibar by Jose Andres. I've heard a ton about this restaurant, but I've never managed to eat there. Mark said he'd offer to pick me up, which was super sweet of him to do. After 30 minutes went by, I heard my doorbell ring. I went to open the door, and there was Mark, with a bouquet of sunflowers in his hand. "These are for you." He smiled as he handed me the flowers. "Awww, thank you Mark. This is really sweet of you." I smiled as I grabbed a vase for the flowers before we headed out.
