For me, love has never been simple.
It's been a jumble of twist and turns
With thorns in every dark corner
Digging deep into my skin
Causing blood to trail down my body
Like a river of tears.
Then I saw you.
You weren't composed of thorns
And hidden shadows.
You were melodies.
The purest music.
I leaned into your siren song
Slowly dropping my armor.
My scars yearned for your music.
I drew closer Letting my wounds soak up the tune,
Slowly removing their traces from my skin.
I stood in front of you,
A new woman.
A healed woman.
Mesmerized by your eyes
Those beautiful sea glass eyes.
My heart warms at your touch,
The gentle way you cup my face.
It's then that I realize in this moment
That this is what real love feels like.
