Will
Will couldn't decide which was more nerve-racking; seeing Hades or being sandwiched in a family feud.
The doors of the palace opened. In front of them was chaos. The palace shook with heavily, threatening to crumble any second now.
Ghouls, ghosts and zombies scurried around to patch up the cracking obsidian. Persephone puffed an annoyed breath.
"Follow me," she said.
"Oh. And please watch out from falling objects."They trailed behind her as close as they could get, while the goddess continued babbling about her and Hades, about how her stay above was interrupted by the Furies's mistake of whipping Nico.
It made Will's heart constrict on his chest.
"And now, I am here to tend the boy. I am soooo...angered..." The goddess continued. "Of course, I can't punish the kid so I turned on the Furies instead. I turned them into daisies!"
Will made a face. Serves them right, he thought.
Persephone huffed. "They make hideous daisies."
Reyna courteously nodded as she eyed the pillars depicting battles, pain, misery, and death.
Will couldn't be bothered less. He was having difficulty refraining himself from sprinting out of the palace.
Soon, the throne room was in sight.
The doors trembled. The commotion certainly was in there.
Persephone stormed inside, the two demigods at her heels.
"STOP!" She cried
Nico stopped midswing, his sword hovering just a few inches from decapitating a random zombie.
"What are you doing?!" Persephone exclaimed. "Stop this madness!! You'll ruin the palace!"
The floor cracked from where Nico was standing.
"I don't give a damn about this rubble you call a palace!"Persephone's eyes narrowed. "How dare you speak to me with such insolence in front of our guests!"
Nico snorted. "Like I care," he muttered under his breath without glancing at them.
"Didn't you hear me? I said we have guests," the goddess said coolly.
Nico balled his hands into fists. He raised his fist in the air and a portion of the floor cracked. He raised it and threw the large chunk of obsidian at them like they were just in a pillow fight.
Will shielded his head, at the same time shielding the praetor with his body.
He closed his eyes shut, readying himself for the blow. Instead, countless wheat rained over them. The goddess had turned the chunk of obsidian to wheat, the crops lying all over the floor.
"What did you bring now? Blood sucking empousai?" Nico sneered. "The last time I checked, you almost wiped my memory."
Persephone paused
"That was like weeks ago.""That was yesterday!"
Persephone rolled her eyes. "So, this is still about the stupid fountain. Are we seriously going to have this conversation again?"
"You call it stupid?! You almost wiped my memory!" Nico snapped.
"Now dear. You're making a big deal out of this," Persephone chimed in.
"Yeah. As if placing a fountain with the waters of the river Lethe isn't a big deal..." Nico trailed off as his eyes landed on the goddess's company.
