Nara stood in front of the mirror, her hands trembling as she tried to steady her breaths. Her heart raced in her chest, matching the tempo of her father's shouting from the living room. "Why can't you be like others, Nara?!" his slurred voice echoed through the house. She closed her eyes, trying to drown out his words. She remembered a time before her mother's death when her father was kind, but now he was a mere shell of that man, drowning his sorrows in alcohol.

As Nara got ready for school, a pang of loneliness gripped her heart. She wondered if things would have been different if her mother hadn't died in that tragic car crash. The incident had left her physically scarred but emotionally shattered. Her father had spiraled into alcoholism, his pain turning into anger that he directed at Nara whenever he was drunk.

Despite being only 19, Nara dreamed of escaping her toxic home environment. She had been saving up money to buy her own apartment, but her hopes shattered when she discovered her father had stolen all her savings to feed his addiction.
