"Kate!...Kate talk to me, Kate don't do this, don't die on me , you can't leave me I need you" I shouted shaking her wildly.
Kate coughed uncontrollably, blood spouted from her mouth onto the white carpet. I looked away in disgust. My stomach is turning, but I still managed to look back at her face. She was pale, cold and in pain.
"C-h-u-c-k" she said barely able to speak.
"God damn you Kate, your going to get through this. We have to find April together" I said as I brushed my hand against her face.
"No Chuck, I can't" she whispered putting her hand on mine.
"I can't find her alone Kate" I replied as my voice began lowering.
"You need to move on Chuck, she's gone" she struggled but then managed to say.
"How can you say that Kate, she's my daughter I will never stop looking for her" I snapped back.
"Chuck, I should have told you sooner" Kate replied slowly, her voice trembling.
"Told me what" I said already half knowing what she was going to say next.
"It's April Chuck, she's not your daughter" Kate mumbled trying to save her energy.
"Kate you don't know what your saying" I said trying my best to convince her and myself.
"No, Chuck there's two possible fathers and it kills me to tell you that your not one of them. I'm so s-o-r-r-y" Kate said as her eyes watered and she squeezed my hand.
"How could you do this to me and why tell me now?" I replied trying to hold back tears and rage.
"I didn't want to hurt you babe" She said trying to comfort me but failing.
"Who...who are they?" I shouted, but noticed that her eyes had dilated a little.
"Kate tell me, answer me please, I need to know" I begged no longer able to fight back tears.
"Keane Willock and Jack Rogers, Chuck I love you" she finally said faintly.
More blood ran from her mouth, her body dropped, her eyes fully dilated and staring blankly at me. Now there was no life left in her, I clutched her against my chest as I cried out with no control of my emotions whatsoever. I finally wiped the tears from my face, released my grip and placed her back on the floor lying in her pool of blood. I took one last glance at her face, then put my blood covered hand over her eyes and closed them gently.
