All I can see is flashes. Reporters has gathered around me asking questions all at once. I didn't know what to say I was stunned, but finally managed to push through them and run inside my house. Suddenly everything slowed down as I realized that I was now inside. I looked around, it felt as if I haven't been here in a long time. The atmosphere was completely different. Kate always kept the house feeling warm and friendly and that's what made this house my home, but now it felt dull, lonely and was full of strangers searching it. This is no longer my home anymore, this is simply just a house.
"Hello you must Mr. Randal, i'm with the forensic unit. I will bring you upstairs so you can quickly take a few items of clothing is that OK" A man who i'd never seen before instructed me.
"Yeah" I replied instantly as I wanted to get out of here as quickly as possible.
I followed the man upstairs. I was dreading the thought of going into my bedroom. I finally entered the room and straight away I could picture her lying on the ground in the same position that I found her in. The blood stains were all still there and tears began trickling down my face. I looked away and walked to my wardrobe, everything had been touched and searched. I grabbed as much as I could and then ran back down the stairs.
"Are you alright man?" the police officer asked from behind me as he grabbed my shoulder.
I turned quickly around to face him and suddenly I started feeling light headed as the room began spinning around me. My heart was pounding so hard it felt like it was going to burst and I couldn't even manage to get one breath of air into my lungs, I thought I was suffocating. I nodded instead to answer his question but by the expression on his face he didn't seem satisfied although he walked away. The moment his eyes were off me I pushed my way to the front door and dropped to the pavement to sit down. I panted trying desperately to catch my breath and when I finally caught it my heart rate dropped dramatically.
The reporters had already taken at least 50 pictures of me on the ground and were shouting questions at me like "What's going on in there?" and "Are you in that state because the scene is so horrific?" instead of asking me was I OK, but they didn't care because all reporters care about is front headlines that will make them rich. I tried to stay calm and zone them out so that all I could hear is my own thoughts which were that this was a lot harder than I expected and I have a gut feeling that it's not going to get any better.
