"Today was super cool." Royalty said as she hopped on the kitchen counter.

"Dad you should take off more often. Didn't know you knew what fun was." Passion laughed.

"Yeah yeah yeah. Don't do me like that." Jason said as he sat down at the table.

"It was a great day. I'm glad you were able to take off and spend time with them." I smiled as I touched his shoulder. "Hey girls, go on upstairs and get showers together. No dirty clothes on the bed."

"Okay." Passion and Royalty smiled.

"Passion, if you don't mind, help your sister please. I'm going to chat with your dad and then I'll be up to help if you need me."

"Okay that's fine."

"THANK YOU LADIES." I yelled since they were halfway up the stairs.

"YOU'RE WELCOME." They yelled back.

"They are amazing." I smiled. "So what's on your mind? We haven't had alone time for me to talk to you since Adayomi stopped by."

"I requested $2500 a month in child support and I requested spousal support. I also made copies of everything before giving the original copy back to her."

"Good for you. I'm proud of you."

"I also think she's pregnant." He said.

"Oh...umm...what makes you think that?"

"I know her. She is getting a little thicker. She always spreads out in her hips and thighs first."

"Are you going to take custody of the baby?" I asked.

Jason looked at me with hurt eyes. "She's not pregnant by me. We haven't had sex in so long that I can't even remember when the last time was."

"I'm sorry, I didn't know. Does she know that you think she's pregnant?"

"No, it's not my business."

"It is your business. If you're married right now, you can add that to the reasons as to why you want a divorce."

"I didn't ask for the divorce." He said.

"You know what I mean. I have some lawyer friends I could try to reach out too."

"I don't have the extra money."

"J, I didn't say anything about the money."

"Why are you so good to me and helpful? I keep going through bullshit after bullshit after bullshit, and you just do all that you can to help me. Why?"

"That's because I see the greatness in you. I care about those girls upstairs and I care about you. I have a loving heart. If I can do for someone, I'm going too. I don't expect nothing but a thank you and a smile. You're so used to how she treated you, that you don't see that someone is right here in front of you, trying to bring some peace and happiness in your life." I stressed.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to snap."

"You're perfectly fine. I understand that the tensions are high right now. I'm not tripping at all."

"You have been a major blessing to the girls and I." He smiled.

"There's that smile I love. Long as you keep smiling, I'll continue to be good to you all."

"I appreciate that. So can I get to know you some more, like ask you questions?"

"Sure."

"Why are you single and do you want kids?"

"Mm, those questions." I cleared my throat and then laughed. "Do I want kids, one day. But I want to be married first. That's why I'm single. I know what I want and need. I'm not going to just be a girlfriend forever."

"Understandable. Are you seeing anyone right now? I'm only asking because you do spend a lot of time with me and I don't want to make him upset."

I laughed. "I'm single. Let me ask you this. Do you see yourself dating once your divorce is finalized?"

"That's a good question. All I've known since high school is Adayomi. I don't think I would know how to date anymore and start over. It would be difficult."

"I can see why you would say that. I say take your time and heal, then when the timing is right...." I paused once I noticed Jason's hand on my thigh.

"I..nvm. I'm sorry I shouldn't have done that." He said as he got up and walked to his office.

"JASON!" I called out. "What's wrong?"

"Something just came over me. I didn't mean to touch you."

"Hey, you're fine. There was no harm in what you did." I smiled as I stood in front of him. I placed my hands on his face. "Look at me. You're fine."

"Okay. I just don't want to be disrespectful."

"J, you're fine."

"I'm married and I have to..."

"Jason, you are separated and going through a divorce. It sounds bad, but that's the truth."

He stared at me a moment.

Before I knew it, he crashed his lips onto mine. I was taken aback, but then I gave in and started kissing him back. His hands began to travel down to my ass, as moans escaped my lips.

He pulled back and walked out of the room.

I followed him. "Why do you do that?"

"Do what Kayla? Do what?"

"Run."

"Because that's all people have ever done to me. They run away from me. I don't know how else to make someone stay."

I grabbed his hand and stepped closer to him. "You can't push me away. If you want me, say that. But you have to tell me. Because guess what? I might want you too." I kissed his lips and then walked upstairs to check on the girls.
