Sirius Black

Summary: one night while reading at the Black Lake a dog comes up to you, you didn't expect to be surprised by one of your best friends and your crush.

i came to the Black Lake every night on Sundays, clearing my head before the week full of classes and quidditch would start again. Lily would join me sometimes saying she needed to get away from James's antics, but after he followed us and ruined the entire night she apologized and said she wouldn't come again, i didn't mind her company but James's...i loved him but he didn't know when to keep his mouth shut.

Peter usually went to bed earlier than all of us so i didn't worry about him coming and Remus enjoyed reading by the boys saying that their talking and laughing somehow calmed him. Sirius once tried to go with me because he thought i was avoiding him at the time, i was, to be frank, since i had just realized after a talk with Remus that i had fallen in love with the older Black brother.

when i told him no we got into a short fight but when i told him i liked my time alone he just huffed and walked away back to the guys, murmuring about how i didn't want to hang out with him anymore. that was a week ago and now he wasn't talking to me.

i took the small blanket that I always used to sit on by the lake and the book I was going to continue reading, I came down the stairs from the girls' dorm and found the guys in the common room, Peter and James were playing Wizard Chess and Remus was reading a book, a small smile playing on his lips but I couldn't spot Sirius anywhere and my brows furrowed as I walked over to the three of them "where's the lat of u?" I asked James as I watched Peter take one of his knights out.

James shrugged, concentrating on the game "he said he wasn't feeling well so I think he went to our room or the Hospital Wing" I slowly nodded, I wanted to go check on him but it would probably be weird if I did since we weren't talking at the moment. 

i sighed and Remus looked up at me from his book "You could just go and check on him?" I shook my head, you could say I was being petty but I didn't do anything wrong, I shouldn't be the one apologizing.

i waved at the guys as I walked out of the common room. The Fat Lady's portrait opened and I walked through "You're leaving rather late darling" she told me as she popped a grape into her mouth, I looked back at her "Just a late night stroll" I told her before walking away, she would definitely tell on me if I told her I was going outside, The Fat Lady was a gossiper, that was known all throughout Hogwarts, she once apparently caught a Hufflepuff making out with a Gryffindor by the entrance of our common room and the next day everyone knew about the two.

i cast Lumos with my wand now that the halls had turned dark, I made sure to keep my wand low so none of the paintings would wake up and rat me out with any of the teachers who were also definitely sleeping and they wouldn't be too happy knowing a student got them out of bed by sneaking around close to curfew. 

I had laid everything out on the grass and opened my book to start reading when I heard some rustling being me coming from the Forbidden Forest and I immediately felt around for my wand which I had lying next to me. i put my book down and stood up "I know you're there, come out!" I shouted into the darkness of the forest.

 a dark figure came out from between the bushes and I was about to fire a spell at it when the figure...barked.   "Lumos" the figure before me lit up and my brows furrowed, it was a dog? i put my wand down and the dog jogged over to me and sat down, it was a big black shaggy dog and looked mean but it was pretty calm.

i crouched down in front of it and reached out for the dog to smell my hand, "Hi, you're a good boy, right?" the dog looked up from my hand and suddenly I was on my back and the dog was standing on top of me and was licking my face. i slowly pushed the dog off and sat up while he stood there staring at me "You remind me of someone" I muttered as I watched the dog wag its tail at me.

"come with me" I stood up and walked back over to the blanket and the doh just followed after me and laid down beside me as I sat down. i grabbed my book and opened it to the page I was on but I couldn't really read since the dog kept pawing at the book. i sighed and put it down before I looked back up at the dog who was staring at me.

"you really remind me of someone, my friend Sirius, he sometimes acts like a dog" The dog laid down next to me instead and I began to pet it "I haven't spoken to him this whole week, he thinks I don't want to hang out with him anymore but...i don't think I can do that" the dog laid his head on my thigh and I started petting his head when he whined. 

"I mean, how could I act normal around my best friend when I'm in love with him" I felt the dog stiffen next to me and I looked down at it for a second seeing its eyes wide open like it understood me, it couldn't, it was just a dog. "I don't know what to do, Remus said I should tell him but-" The dog suddenly stood up and ran away, like out of nowhere he ran back into the forest.

i frowned and sighed before standing up and gathering my stuff, I wasn't going to get any reading done like this. "(Y/N)?" I dropped my stuff and turned around to see, Sirius in his pajamas. "Sirius? i thought you weren't feeling well?" he adverted his gaze from mine "Yeah, that was a lie I asked the guys to tell everyone if they asked" I slowly nodded "But I didn't see you around?" I wondered out loud and he nodded before turning to the Forbidden Forest "I was in there" he said with a goofy smile on his face.

i shook my head "You can't go in there Siri, it's dangerous" I turned around and started gathering my stuff, Sirius walked in front of me and grabbed me by my wrists, and pulled me back up "that's not important right now, I want to tell you something" I stayed quiet and he took it as a sign to start talking.

"first of all I want to apologize for being childish and avoiding you, I get that you want some time away from us and I should have respected that. and second of...I'm in love with you too" My jaw dropped as the words fell from his lips. "but how?" the gears started turning in my head, I had only told Remus about my feelings for Sirius, and the only other...

i looked right into Sirius's eyes and spotted a familiar I had seen some minutes ago in a black shaggy dog "You were the dog, weren't you?" he let out a small laugh as he nodded, I hit his chest "I can't believe you! you're an Animagus" he caught my wrists and smiled down at me "that's not important right now, I just confessed to you and you confessed to me, well not to me but my Animagus form" 

I felt my face grow hot at the thought "Well?" I wondered and he let go of my wrist and instead reached up and held my face in his hands "I want to be with you" he told me and I'm pretty sure my smile became permanent "I want to be with you too" I whispered and he began leaning down while I swung my arms around his neck while he went from my cheeks to my waist. 

our lips met in a kiss and I could honestly say it was the best kiss I had ever had. he pulled away way too soon in my opinion but smiled and pecked my nose before pulling away "You want to stay here?" I nodded and we both sat down, watching the moon up together in the sky, dancing with the stars.
