Summary: the battle changes Fred's opinion about your relationship.

AUTHOR P.O.V

she didn't know where he was and he didn't know where she was and they were both panicking, not knowing if the other was alright. (Y/N) and Fred had been separated after about five Death Eaters came after them.

(Y/N) later found Neville and Luna running around the grand staircase, she fell beside them gasping, and dropped her wand on the floor "Are you two hurt?" she asked as she checked the two for any injuries. they shook their heads and (Y/N) sighed in relief and fell back on her butt as she caught her breath "Are you okay?" Neville asked watching the blood trickle down her face from her hairline. (Y/N) slowly nodded still heavily breathing.

soon enough she stood back up and straightened her shirt that had crinkled up "I have to go, stay safe you two" They nodded and watched as (Y/N) ran up the staircase in search of Fred, she needed to know if he was safe.

all kinds of thoughts were floating through her head, like how just a few weeks ago she was in bed with Fred with the only worry of them being what she was going to cook for them for breakfast and what they were gonna do for the day which would probably turn out be working in the shop and get a Butterbeer at the Three Broomsticks after.

now she was worrying about if her boyfriend of four years was even alive or if he was seriously hurt. was he searching for her? definitely. a black mist appeared before her, and a Death Eater laughed as he stood tall before her. "you have been quite annoying (L/N)" (Y/N) shot a spell in the Death Eater's direction and his mask flew off, she gasped "uncle Finley?!" the man had estranged from her family almost five years ago after realizing her family didn't agree with the pureblood supremity views he had but he had never voiced it until she found a letter addressed to him in her family home that talked all about Voldemort's return and their plans to raise an army.

she took the letter to her mother and after that, it was a blur but she knew that the man was banned from the home and was to never contact any of them ever again and that he shouldn't expect any help from them.

"you took everything from me, so now I'm going to take everything from you. I'm going after your friends, your red-haired lover. everyone" he hissed "Bombarda!" he shouted and (Y/N) immediately raised her wand and shouted "Protego!" the spell deflected off of her shield and flew into the ceiling blowing it up, luckily there were now people up there.

(Y/N) ran behind the wall "You can't hide from me!" he shouted at her and continued to fire spells and curses in her direction hitting the concrete of the wall she was hiding by, "Diffindo!" she hissed as the spell cut her cheek slightly. her hand flew to her face and when she pulled it away it was stained red with the blood from her new wound. her brows furrowed in anger and she stepped away from the wall when her uncle took a second to breathe.

"Expelliarmus!" she shouted and Finley's wand went flying out of his hand "Ebublio" a bubble formed around her uncle and he smashed his hands into it but he just flew back and fell. (Y/N) walked up to him while he glared up at her "I don't want to kill you" she told him honestly but he scoffed and looked away from her "You don't have another option" he told her, but she did "I can just leave you here for some Aurors to picks you up later" he immediately stood back up. "'You can't do that" "Oh I will, just watch me" and with that, she walked away.

he screamed for her to come back as she ran away continuing her search for her longtime boyfriend. suddenly she passed a familiar-looking girl sitting by the wall, Susan Bones, she believed she was in Ron's year. she fell in front of the girl who was clearly in shock "Are you alright Susan?" she slowly shook her head and a single tear fell from her eye and that's when she spotted multiple cuts on her arms and legs "Merlin! let's get you some help" she reached out and pulled her up from the floor and onto her two feet "do you know where the injured are being kept?" she nodded.

"The Great Hall"

Susan and (Y/N) stumbled into The Great Hall and yelled out for Madam Pomfrey who immediately came running to us and took Susan from her hold and brought her over to a free makeshift bed that was set up all over the Great Hall. (Y/N) sighed in relief and took a good look around before she spotted the group of crying redheads, but what made her panic, even more, was the fact she didn't see Fred with them.

she ran over and fell down beside George as he cried, she put an arm around his shoulder "I'm so sorry" In front of her lay Percy with his eyes closed and a still chest, he wasn't breathing. in some kind of way, she was relieved it wasn't Fred lying on the makeshift bed but on the other hand, she couldn't imagine what the Weasleys were going through.

George managed to notice how uneasy she was and poked her side with his elbow "he's over there" he nudged his head in front of them and as (Y/N) looked over the heads of Ginny and Molly she saw Fred sitting with an injured Lee Jordan who saw you first, he shot you a sad smile and patted Fred on the shoulder before standing up and leaving.

(Y/N) was sure she had never moved as fast as she did and she launched herself in front of Fred and grabbed his hands in hers and kissed them as tears started to fall down her face. she looked up at him and saw him crying too "I'm so sorry about Percy, Fred" He just shook his head and mumbled something "Love?" you whispered and moved some hair out of his face "he saved my life, if it wasn't for him i would've left you (Y/N)" 

(Y/N)'s eyes widened in shock and her hold on Fred's hands softened ever so slightly "I'm so sorry i wasn't there"

"i was so scared i was going to lose you, i can't imagine my life without you, especially not after i almost died" he looked back at his family before turning back to (Y/N) "Promise me something" she nodded and waited for him to continue "once the war is over and we're fine again, you'll stay with me. you'll marry me" 

(Y/N)'s jaw dropped in shock and she placed one of her hands on Fred's cheek "Fre-" he cut her off and put his hand on top of hers as he leaned into her touch "I'm sure, I've loved you since we were thirteen and we've been together for four years. I've given this so much thought and all this..." he looked around The Great Hall "this just told me that i shouldn't waste any more time. you're the love of my life and i don't want to be apart from you after this"

(Y/N) felt tears fill her eyes as he spoke "i don't have a ring with me now but I'll get you one late, but please, say you'll marry me?" i wiped the tears from my eyes and smiled up at him.

"i would never leave your side, Fred Gideon Weasley, i love you so much. Of course, I'll marry you"

our tears mixed as we kissed, it wasn't the best timing for what just happened but after the Battle, their love was undeniable and made stronger. they didn't care about the danger, they were sure they could withstand it.
