normally Draco had no issues with falling asleep but ever since he got the dark mark it had been almost impossible to fall asleep even with (Y/n) next to him who had been sound asleep for the past two hours.

knowing he would eventually wake her up because of all the moving he was doing he carefully scooted away from her and pushed the duvets off of him so he could stand up. he was dressed in only a pair of gray sweatpants since (Y/N0 had stolen his quidditch hoodie so he grabbed his white shirt he had hung over the chair by his desk and put it on.

he quietly opened the door and closed it behind him trying to make as little noise as possible. the common room was incredibly quiet, the only one there was the misty figure of the ghost staring out the windows that showed the deep dark of the Black Lake. he made no effort to make conversation and quickly slipped out of the common room and out into the dark hallways of Hogwarts.

his feet knew where to go on their own by now, he had been visiting the Room of Requirement almost daily now after everyone went to sleep. he left when they slept and came back just before everyone woke up to get ready for classes. he sighed thinking about how he would rather stay in bed with (Y/N) but instead, he was walking through dark halls on his way to work on the vanishing cabinet, was it weird he pitied himself? he has an amazing girlfriend that he loves to bits and here he is, marked against his will and made to do something he didn't want to do, destroying the place he actually started to see as his actual home instead of the Malfoy Manor that brought nothing but horrors to him.

he arrived at the familiar wall that now looked completely normal to him, he emptied his thoughts, and slowly but surely Draco watched as the wall started changing. intricate swirls and designs carved themselves into the stone before the outline of the door to the room appeared and the stone of the walls turned into brown wood. 

he heaved a deep sigh and pulled the door open, it creaked and echoed throughout the empty hall behind him. His brows furrowed in confusion when he noticed that the piles of clutter that would normally fill the room weren't there. Instead, the room was empty and eerily quiet, the only thing he could see in the dimly lit room was something that was covered by a black cloak or something that looked like that. Draco frowned and walked up to it, was it the vanishing cabinet? had the room just changed into a neater form? 

he reached out and pulled the black cloak off of the object hiding underneath it, a golden framed mirror stood in front of him with the inscription Erised stra ehru oyt ube cafru oyt on wohsi. pondering over the words he didn't understand he looked down thinking he was going to see himself but instead, his eyes widened when he saw (Y/N) standing right behind him. he turned around, alarmed by her sudden appearance but when he looked behind him she wasn't there....

he looked back at the mirror and watched as (Y/N) smiled before looking off to the side and seemingly calling out to someone. a little boy with platinum blonde hair ran up to her with arms outstretched and (Y/N) quickly picked him up. The child smiled at him, his eyes were the exact same as (Y/N)'s, an (E/C) and his eyes widened as a realization came to him.

he looked up at the inscription again and read it again "Erised..." he scoffed, he was looking at the Mirror of Erised, the ancient mirror that showed you what you desired the most in the whole world.

he smiled once more as the reflection of (Y/N) and their son disappeared, he backed away from the mirror and ran out of the room and through the halls, heading back to the Slytherin common room. he realized something important looking into the mirror, he needed her safe no matter what.

he didn't bother being quiet and ran into the common room and up to his dorm that (Y/N) was still in. he slowly opened the door and low and behold she was still there hugging a pillow close to her thinking it was actually Draco. he walked up to the bed and back down under the covers. (Y/N) stirred and slowly woke up after feeling the weight of the bed shift "Draco?" she whispered seeing him getting comfortable. 

he reached out and wrapped his arms around her waist pulling her close "Go back to sleep Darling, I want to take you out to Hogsmeade tomorrow" (Y/N) smiled slightly still a bit sleepy "i would like that" Draco watched her for a moment as her eyes closed once again and her breathing became heavier, his memory flickered back to the Mirror of Erised and a smile appeared on his lips, he was really lucky to have her.
