"So how was it?" Shawn asked.

"Hard but I think I passed."

"You better pass, because if I ever get sick I'm relying on you to make me better."

I chuckled, "I'm not a family doctor, I'm a studying to be a psychologist."

"That is?"

"I want to help people dealing with anxiety, depression..."

"Oh." He nodded. "Does this mean your on vacation?"

"Ayee!"

"You know what this means?"

"Netflix?"

"No, lets go to a party!" Shawn suggested.

"And who's gonna take care of Ally?" I asked.

"The old couple we met at the beach."

"We met them once how do we know we can trust them?"

"Oh, Mrs. Gutowski stops by all the time and watches Ally."

"Okay, but clubbing is unholy."

"It's a beach party."

"I don't know..."

"Just stick with me you'll be fine."

"You've got this all planned didn't you?"

"I met a few guys."

"Alright. I'll go, as long as you stay sober."

"Promise."

I did the finishing touches of my makeup. It wasn't a lot considering I'm gonna be swimming or surfing half the time.

I was really nervous, I don't know why. Maybe because I was afraid Shawn's gonna get drunk again. That's how he got Claire pregnant... Or maybe it's because I'm letting Ally in the hands of some weird lady. If Shawn trusts her I guess it's okay.

I grabbed my beach bag and went downstairs.

"...So Ally already had a bath so don't let her paint in the playroom." I heard Shawn explain to Mrs. Gutowski.

"Good Evening, Mrs. Gutowski thank you so much for doing this." I greeted her.

"Oh! It's my pleasure. Ally's such an angel." She smiled.

"Well, we better get going." Shawn kissed Ally on the cheek.

"Bye bye!" Ally waved.

"Bye Ally! Bye Mrs. Gutowski!" I waved.

"You two kids have fun!"

I got into the car and drove to Venice Beach.

"So how'd you meet the guys you were talking about?" I asked.

"Remember Ian from high school?"

"Warburton?"

"Yeah." Shawn said. "He's friends with the guy throwing the party."

"Oh okay."

"He's a good guy, don't worry." He patted my leg.

I coughed awkwardly at his gesture, "Ugh, we're here."

He got out of the car and greeted a really attractive boy.

"Hey, Mendes! How you doing?" He gave him a bro hug then looked at me.

He looks like a sex god, he could make an ugly girl's babies look gorgeous.

"This is my friend Aubrey." Shawn gestured to me. "Aubrey, this is Jack Gilinsky."

"Hey!" I smiled.

He winked at me and shook my hand.

"So do you guys want anything to drink?" He asked.

"Nah I'm fine maybe later." Shawn said.

"No thank you." I said.

"Hey guys this is Aubrey and Shawn!" He said to the crowd

"Hey, I'm Jack Johnson." A boy said.

"Aubrey."

"Shawn."

"So you guys new here?"

"I moved here last year for university."

"I moved a couple months ago to her place." Shawn said.

"You guys a thing?" Gilinsky asked.

"No!" We both said at the same time.

"Just best friends." I said.

"Yikes man, thought you two looked cute together." Johnson said awkwardly.

Shawn chuckled nervously, "Yeah..."

"You guys need to loosen up how about a drink?" A waitress came up to us.

"Yeah I'll have a shot." Johnson said.

"Whiskey for me."

"How about you Shawn?"

"I'll have something light."

"And for the pretty lady?" Gilinsky asked.

"Margarita for me."

"Coming up." The waitress said.

"Let me introduce you to some of our friends!" Johnson said to Shawn.

Shawn looked at me, "Ill be back."

"Okay..." I sighed.

"Hey, I'll stay with you." Gilinsky smiled.

"You really don't have to, you can go if you want." I said taking a sip from my drink.

"No, I'd rather stay with you than party."

"Are you sure? I'm not a party girl."

"Then what type of girl are you?" He asked.

"You'll just have to see." I smirked.

"Hey Matt this is my friend Shawn from Canada." Johnson introduced me to everyone at the party.

I shook his hand.

I got to know a lot of the guys there. They were really cool.

"So how are you liking, California?" Matt asked.

"It's really different from Canada, it's great here." I replied.

A girl walked passed us and stroked Johnson's arm.

"You'll like it here, a lot of hot babes." Johnson said winking at the girl.

The girl was about to say something, when she looked at me.

"Claire?"
