Aubrey"Hey how about this one?" I pointed to a gorgeous ring with little diamonds encrusted in it.
"Eh.." Shawn said for the hundredth time today.
"We've been looking for rings for three hours and you like none of the ones we've seen?" I asked.
"How about we go to another store?" He suggested.
"We're running out of jewelry shops." I said.
"What about a road trip to the Bay Area?" He asked. "Just me and my bestest friend in the whole world."
"What about Ally?" I asked.
"I'll ask Claire to pick her up."
"Fine," His eyes lit up. "But why not this weekend?"
"Im planning to propose on Sunday!"
"But I didn't pack any clothes."
"Neither did I."
"What are you gonna tell Claire?" I asked. "Hey I'm going to San Francisco to buy an engagement ring for you, so can you pick up Ally?"
"I don't sound like that!" Shawn scoffed. "Okay, fine we'll go home tonight and I'll make arrangements with Claire."
I nodded. Shawn's phone rang.
"Speaking of Claire." He said before answering the phone.
I was looking at the rings when someone tapped my shoulder.
"Mrs. Gutowski! Fancy seeing you here!" I smiled.
"Picking out rings, yeah?" She asked.
"Yeah, this is the seventh shop we've visited." I said. "He's so picky!"
Mrs. Gutowski laughed, "Did you already pick out a dress?"
My eyes went wide, "Oh uh, Mrs. Gutowski, Shawn and I aren't getting married."
"No?"
"We were actually looking for an engagement ring for his girlfriend."
"It's a shame, I thought you two would end up together." She frowned. "I've got to get going, nice seeing you, hun."
"Nice seeing you too.." I waved.
"Bree!" Shawn called. "Claire is going to take Ally to the pier tomorrow, so.."
"Okay, we can go to San Francisco, but we have to have a picnic near the Tanner's house."
"Sounds like a plan." He said before humming the Full House theme song.
-
"Bree!" Ally squealed jumping into my arms.
"Hey, you!" I spun her around before putting her into her car seat.
"Did you have fun at Macy's house?" Shawn asked.
"Yup! We played with Lily!"
"Who's Lily?" I asked buckling her in."
"Macy's puppy!" She said. "Daddy, can we get a puppy too?"
"Daddy's allergic to puppies, princess." Shawn said.
"Yeah, Al. How about a kitten?" I suggested.
Shawn glared at me. Yikes, guess he still hasn't gotten over his pet cat, Jasmine. Or he just doesn't want pets?
"But Cats sleep all day!" Ally whined.
"Tomorrow, mommy is taking you to the pier," Shawn said. "Maybe you and her can win a little fishy at the carnival."
"Okay, I like fishies." She clapped.
"Is it okay if you sleep over at mommy's house?" Shawn asked.
"Um.. Okay.." She sighed.
"Is there something wrong, Al?" Shawn asked.
"I wanna sleep in Bree's room.."
"You can always sleep in my room anytime!" I said. "But isn't it more fun to sleep at your mommy's house?"
"Yeah, mommy would be very sad if you don't go." Shawn said.
"And you see me everyday! You only see your mommy two times a week!" I said.
"Okay, I'll sleep at mommy's." Ally finally said.
Shawn and I fist bumped each other.
"Dude, we're getting better and better." I smirked.
"Oh yeah, we're the masters of persuasion." He replied.
"Yay! We're home!" Ally squealed.
Shawn parked the car in the driveway. I stepped out to help Ally get out of her seat.
"What do you want for dinner?" I asked her.
"Pizza!" She exclaimed.
"Good, I don't have to cook." I sighed in relief. "Shawny boy, pass me the phone!"
"What's the magic word?" He asked.
"Pass me the phone before I wingardium Levi-yo-ass up."
"Three year old in the room." He said nodding his head towards Ally.
"What is ass?" Ally asked.
"A donkey, but don't say ass," I replied. "Fine, you order the pizza."
"What's the number?"
"How can you not know the pizza number?" I gasped. "I learned the Pizza Hut and the pizza pizza number before I learned 9-1-1."
"Just tell me the number!"
-
After dinner, I started packing for the road trip. Ally was keeping me company.
"Where are you going?" She asked.
"San Francisco. Only for a day."
"Why?" She asked.
"To um.. Visit the Tanners!" That was the worst lie I've ever told. She's three she wouldn't care.
"Oh."
"Come on, Al it's past your bedtime." I said picking her up.
"But I wanna help."
"I have something you can help me with!"
"Ooh what?"
"You can help me by going to sleep."
"Oh okay!"
I took her to her room.
"It's scary in here, can I sleep with you?"
"I'd love that, but I have to pack." I explained.
"Can you take me to daddy, please?"
"Okay, Al, sweet dreams." I kissed the top of her head.
"Are you all packed?" Shawn asked.
"Almost."
"Night, loser." He stuck out his tongue.
"Night, idiot."
