Aubrey

I woke up in Shawn's arms. That was odd. I lifted my head from his chest, failing because of his tight grip.

I tried to pry his arms that were squeezing me closer to him.

"Shawn, wake up." I squirmed around.

He inhaled sharply.

"Shawn, come on wake up." I said a little bit louder trying not to wake Ally.

After trying to get out of his grip I lost it.

"SHAWN PETER RAUL MENDES WAKE THE HELL UP!"

He opened his eyes and squinted at me.

"What?" He groaned.

"Wake up, we need to get ready for Ally's party."

"Five more minutes.." He snuggled his head in the crook of my neck.

"Fine, but let go of me."

"No, you're warm." He pulled me closer.

"Ugh, fine." I gave up. "But only, five minutes."

I woke up half an hour later. Shawn was downstairs cooking breakfast.

"About time you woke up."

"It's only been thirty minutes, you dork."

"Ouch. That hurt." He held his heart.

"Keep frying those eggs."

"Keep up with that you get no eggs." He joked.

"Fine, dad."

He coughed awkwardly.

"Not like that you horny-"

"Oh daddy!" He moaned in a girls voice, cutting me off.

I smacked his arm.

"Oh yeah, you'd tap that."

We started laughing uncontrollably.

"O-okay, pass me the eggs." I calmed down a bit.

"They kinda, burned." he scratched the back of his neck.

"Oh, you down for some cereal?"

"Yeah, sure." He poured milk in his bowl.

"Milk before cereal?"

"It's only this one time." He said. "You're taking too long with the cereal."

"I need to perfect my cereal."

"How? You literally pour cereal into the bowl then the milk."

"Coming from the guy who just spilled milk all over the counter."

After breakfast, we got the house ready for Ally's birthday party. Not much people were coming since as sad as it sounds, Ally doesn't have friends her age. But the house was really messy.

While Shawn was picking up the food, I got Ally ready.

"Get in the tub, Al." I said pouring bubble bath in the tub.

She hopped in and splashed around.

"Ouch." She rubbed her eyes.

"What's wrong, baby?" I asked holding her hands.

"Hurts."

"Did you get soap in your eyes?"

She nodded.

"It hurts, mommy."

Hold up. I decided to ignore what she just called me and washed her face. I continued bathing her and thought.

While getting her changed I decided to explain.

"Ally, I'm not your mommy. I'm just your daddy's best friend, but I still love you as if you were my baby, okay?"

She nodded.

"Come on time to party!" Shawn broke the awkwardness between us.

"Oh hi Shawn." I gasped. "Don't do that, you scared the-"

"Hey. Baby in the room." He covered Ally's ears.

"Poop outta me."
