"How about I hide the ring in her drink?" Shawn suggested.

"That's so unoriginal." I said.

"How's that unoriginal?"

"You got that from Spider-Man 3."

"I thought that was a great way to propose."

"Yeah, until Mary Jane left him."

"You're making me nervous."

"How about you take her to dinner and then propose somewhere else?"

"Like where?"

"Where do you two like to go together?" I asked.

"Her bedroom."

I choked on my water, "Here's a suggestion. Go to church."

He rolled his eyes, "We really like going to the pier."

"Why don't you propose on the Ferris wheel?" I suggested.

"How am I supposed to kneel down?"

"Propose at the merry go round." I said. "Put her on the horse and ask her to 'merry' you."

"A pun? Really?"

"Fine. I got nothing."

"I'm proposing in two days! I'll just stick to the original plan."

"You never had an original plan." I said. "All you said was you'll take her to that restaurant and propose."

"It's not just a restaurant. It so happens to be the best Chinese restaurant in LA."

"I have the best idea!" I jumped up. "Why don't you put 'will you marry me' in Claire's fortune cookie?"

"You're a genius!"

"I know."

"Thanks so much." He kissed my cheek, then walked to the kitchen to call the restaurant.

I was probably blushing like crazy. I can't be falling for him now. He's proposing in two days! It's either I fall harder for someone who will never love me back or I forget.

I picked up my phone and dialed an old friends number.

"Hey Jack, do you want to go to the beach today?"

"I'm down, I'll pick you up at 3?" Gilinsky replied.

"Sounds good, I'll see you later."

"Bye."

I hung up.

"I thought we both agreed that Gilinsky is a fuck boy?" Shawn said sitting back down.

"It's been a year, people change."

"Isn't he dating Madison?"

"They never had a thing for each other." I said. "Besides, we're going to the beach as friends."

"Will you come back as just friends?"

"I don't want to be in a relationship right now." Unless it was with Shawn.

Stop. I need to get rid of my feelings for Shawn.

"Just be careful."

"We're not hooking up!"

"Mhm."

"I promise it's just surfing and catching up and food." I said. "Why are you being so protective, anyways?"

"I-Im not." He stuttered. "I just don't want to see you getting hurt."

"I'll be fine, Shawn. You don't have to look out for me."

"Alright," Shawn backed off. "I'll be with Ally if you need me."

I nodded and walked to my room to pack.
