Chapter 5

I saw Cherry flinch a little bit. I would be lying if I said I wasn't a little nervous for Cherry. When we were in high school Adam was already an amazing skater. I didn't want what happened to Reki happen to Cherry.

"I'll laugh at you if you lose." I said to Cherry sarcastically.

Cherry just rolled his eyes and gave me a smirk before skating off to the starting line.

*BEEP*
*BEEP*
*BEEP*
*BEEP*

Cherry and Adam immediately started racing and after a few minutes Adam was skating towards Cherry to do a love hug. I prayed that Cherry would be able to dodge it. He mumbled something, AND THEN CLOSED HIS EYES?! What was he doing? He dodged it perfectly, not crashing, and going swiftly around the curve. I'm 78% sure that Carla calculated the angle and I have never been more thankful for her.

A few more minutes before they were at the abandoned factory. Adam got jumped off and grabbed his board like a baseball bat. He then swung- at Cherry?!

Cherry immediately flew backwards hitting his back and head on the hard road. He looked like he was in a lot of pain.

"CHERRY" I screamed out.

People were staring at me but I don't care. Reki and Miya looked away from the big screen but I couldn't stop looking. Kaoru was crying while covering his mouth and Kojiro was trying to comfort him. Too much was happening. I shook off the group of girls that were on me and I started running to Cherry.

As I saw my future self get hit only one thing was going through my head

'How could Adam do that to me.'

I immediately started crying and was covering my mouth as I dropped to the floor. Kojiro came down to hug me and tell me everything was alright. But it wasn't. I don't know how I can look Adam in the eye again. 

Since this happened now it means that Adam is going to do the same thing to me in the future. I thought he loved me?

I felt so much as I hit the floor. I knew Adam was crazy but to hit me with his board while going at that speed?! I was hurting everywhere but some of it was emotionally. It's hard to think at some point in time I was in-love with him. I had to get up and continue the race, but I couldn't. All I could manage to do was look up at Adam.

"You know Kaoru, the only reason I didn't answer your beef is because.... it sounded boring." He had a frown on his face and looked upset.

I tried to respond but my vision became blurry and it was hard to breathe, I tried to pull down my mask but I blacked out. All I remember is hearing...Joe?

"KAORU!!"

I dropped at the sight of Cherry. He was passed out with scratches all over his body. Parts of his mask and clothing was torn and there were bruises on his face.

I suddenly heard two people running towards us. Oh shit- it was Kaoru and Kojiro.

"Joe!" Kaoru called out, he looked terrified while looking at Cherry. Kojiro was still trying to comfort his best friend.

"Is this who I think it is?" Adam said with a smirk while skating towards Kaoru.

"Hello my love!" I immediately got up and pushed Adam away from Kaoru.
