a little excited, Diana waved something to the people and held protective the hands of her boys. She didn't want them to be overwhelmed, even thought they're probably used to it by now which she can still say less about herself even after all these years it was still unreal and unnerving playing the perfect wife who she knew was far from even being acknowledged as perfect and suppressed an automatic flinch when Charles touched her shoulder and looked at him briefly asking what he wanted from her, while leaning slightly towards her.

"What do you think, if we bring the old magic back to life?" whispered he softly in her ear.

It was the first loving smile he gave her for a long time, which made her nod in agreement while he lovingly cupped her cheek and she started kissing tenderly in front of the people and tried to ignore them mentally.

It had been years since they had kissed a few times in public like this time but never privately. She wasn't even sure when they last kissed, especially the one that could have been called- the old magic-but she would be lying to herself when she said that kiss didn't mean anything to her and hoped it meant as much to Charles even if she had self-doubt that a kiss had ever meant anything to him and she looked nervously away from him and smiled a little hesitantly aware that she was practically staring at him in front of everyone and beaming slightly excited when he had put an arm around her waist and waved at the same time to the people, while she thought back to her trip to Australia.

Where it feel like it did then for her and secretly hoped that this trip would be like it used to be in her good times together.

Charles waved with a grin to the people who happy received them with loud cheers and wondered what had come over him to kiss Diana like that. He feels guilty whenever he thinks about Camilla and that she has to find it out through the media and not from himself.

He had promised Camilla not to be near to Diana as much possible and he had broken a promise to her for the first time which he didn't want to break. He also knew that whenever Diana was mentioned anywhere she was insecure.

He didn't even remotely enjoy being together with Diana and also don't know why he had made this silly suggestion to revive the supposed old magic. Which in his eyes had never existed before. The only thing he can not understand at the moment was why he didn't mind the kiss.

It didn't bother him the way he had thought it would. The kiss had felt different than the other times. Better. Automatically he thought back to Australia, the only time nothing had felt posed between to them. She was more mature now than before.

A grown woman and no longer the girl he had met in Altrop. But Charles also knew that he shouldn't let to feeling go too far. It would never last, it was never between them. He could count on one hand the few happy moments. It was easier to just count the bad ones. He never knew where he stood in Dianas heart.

He wasn't one of those bloody fairytale prince on a white horse that Diana loved so much. He was the complete opposite of that what Diana imagined in her head. She probably thought of him as one of the kind villains instead of a fairytale prince what he probably deserved, even if she herself was not entirely innocent of their common problems.

She made it so difficult to deal with her that you don't know what to say without she has a breakdown and in his opinion the madness was only made up in her head to gain the sympathy she got from the press and from people. It had been easier to just ignore her. She would eventually come to her senses and that there is absolutely nothing for anyone but acting like a child and scandals that are bad for the palace image that nobody can need it.

He had married the queen of hearts that everyone was in love with her. The difference between the two of them was Diana could have anyone if she signed those divorce papers and he only wants Camilla so he couldn't understand the tingling on his lips after the kiss.

Thinking back his parents would undoubtedly be happy about this kiss and perceive it as supposedly good news and the last thing was to admit that the kiss itself had found pleasant for him but he knew they were destroying each other more than they were doing good and he knew if he gave Diana another chance they would fall into fights like they used to and he wanted to spare that alone because of the boys and maybe Diana as well.

But he still takes Dianas hand as they walked towards the cars where driving to the family yacht.
