I didn't tell my friends I was tutoring Hunter. It was no one's business for one and I didn't want to have them distract him for two. So I waited in the student parking lot at school for Hunter by myself.

I put my headphones on and began singing VoicePlay's version of the Beach Boys' In My Room. It was one of my favorite Beach Boys songs and VoicePlay did their thing on it. No one was around so I sang loudly when necessary.

Everyone was in class, preparing for lunch or fourth period so I was alone and happy about it.

Suddenly someone touched my back and I flipped out.

Hunter stood there, staring at me with a happy smile.

I took my orange headphones off. "Why'd you sneak up on me?"

"You couldn't hear me." He said simply. "You have a beautiful voice."

"Let's go." I could feel the red on my cheeks.

He walked with me to his van. "Are you in choir?"

"No."

"You should be."

"No."

"No what?"

"No, stop talking about my voice."

"Oh." His natural exuberance faded a bit before it picked back up. "I feel like I'm playing hooky."

"By going to the doctors?" I saw his van. It looked like a kidnap vehicle like I thought up yesterday when he told me he drove one.

He opened the door for me. I was shocked by that. Most men these days thought using manners meant you had to be their slave in return. But he just smiled at me. "Yeah. I don't like school so anytime I get to cut class, I'm game."

I let him shut me inside and put on my seatbelt. He got in behind the wheel. "You're not cutting class."

He started up the van that ran surprisingly well. "I'm hanging out with you."

I blushed, hating that it was easy to tell under my copper skin. "We're not hanging out."

"We're hanging out." He winked at me.

I found myself wanting to lick him. I blinked and looked forward. Where did that thought come from?! I didn't even know him! I took a pill bottle from my purse and popped a pill before taking a swig of water from my water-bottle. I swallowed the pill and water before sipping more.

"What was that?"

"What?" I sipped more.

"You just ate some candy."

"I did not. I took a pill."

"I know. When I was little, my mom would tell me pills were magic candy that would make me feel better."

Part of me melted but another part feared for his brain. "Okay?"

He smirked. "I know it's weird. What kind of candy- pill was it?"

"That's private."

"Was it Midol?"

I blinked wide eyes. "What?!"

"My Mom takes Midol when it's her special time."

"You're a momma's boy, aren't you?"

He chuckled. "Yeah."

It was a little endearing that he just admitted it.

"Are you a daddy's girl?"

"Nope."
